We came into your apartment community to get information about the property. We were informed that the model unit was not available for viewing and likely would not be open until next week, which was completely understandable. My concern was with the level of customer service we received. Since we were already there in person, I attempted to get more information about the community. Even if the model apartment was unavailable, I would have appreciated someone taking the time to tell us about the property, amenities, floor plans, or even offering to show us around the grounds. Instead, we were simply told that the information could be found online. While I understand that information is available on the website, there were three staff members in the office and no other customers present at the time. It would have been nice for someone to come from behind the desk and provide a more welcoming and informative experience. Unfortunately, the interaction left a bad taste in my mouth. The staff came across as dismissive, and as a result, we have decided not to return to view the apartments. First impressions matter, and this experience did not make us feel valued as potential residents.

Application costs $60, but staffs are not helpful at all. They unnecessarily drag the process and they were reviewing my application for 20+ days until past my desired move in date. Also they don't even try to prevent multiple people applying for the same sublease. I was told 5 days before my desired move in date that someone else had already moved into the unit I applied for. I was only approved after my move in date had passed, and after I left this review. Save your money and apply somewhere else.

**** updated review- I have to give a shoutout to Omar, the regional manager for all of his help in resolving our issues. 13 days later my son is now in his clean apartment and most issues dealt with. We did have to drive up again 12 hours to help him. Below is original review: After driving 12 hours from NC, Our Move in nightmare: on move in day, My son and his two other roommates were moving into a unit with another person they did not know. He had reached out several times this summer to get to know the fourth person. No luck. Soooo today when we arrived and I walked in, it was unbelievable. The roommate was not there but There was a woman in there who didn’t live there, apparently was just there doing her laundry bc she was a “friend”Apparently this other person had been living there for 3 years. There was another random person sitting on the couch eating a bowl of cereals. There were dishes in the sink dirty. There was stuff and trash everywhere. The unit was so dirty. We moved my son’s stuff into his room and locked the door. As the day unfolded, and his other two roommates came to move in, we discovered that this 4th roomate had subletted his unit (illegally) over the summer to 2 other people. They had taken over the other rooms. Literally trashed the place. Nonsmoking unit. Found remnants of weed and cigarettes inside. Found a pet snake on the balcony. Made numerous phone calls to management who never once came and looked at the room. Collectively me and the other 3 parents kept calling the manager and the complex to get cleaners there, trash removed, a fridge and freezer that needed defrosting, so much other stuff. Finally to the conclusion that the fourth person who had been there 3 years would be evicted by Wednesday. Well my flight left tonight at 6 so I couldn’t stay. Had to have the locks changed and none of the 3 boys stayed tonight feeling bc of feeling unsafe. Had to put our foot down and say when the evicted person comes he must be escorted bc all of our children have their stuff in their own rooms. A nightmare for moms and dads of first time apartment dwellers. I’m so sad that I didn’t get it help my child navigate this more and move in not his room. all the other rooms we looked at on the floor that I peeked into by the nice tenants there let me look at their rooms and none of them were in the condition of our room. So disappointed at the management of Block 36. I am only writing this post to let other parents know of issues that may arise during move on. Here are the pics of how we found it. And I got two very sad pics of my son’s stuff in his closet to keep it safe and him. I had to leave and catch a flight Leaving him and his roomates to deal with this. I am so so sad and ANGRY Raw chicken leaking in the fridge. A freezer that had to be defrosted. I cannot tell you how much of a nightmare this was. And I was on My BEST behavior when calling and trying to deal with management who never once came up to look at the apartment. (These pics are of the common areas and the rooms that our three boys were to move into) I did not get pictures of the fridge. Raw chicken defrosting into all the shelves of the fridge. That was completely nasty. The oven that was nasty and broken all the dirt and trash. I’m just beside myself.

I’ve lived here for a year and the management at Block36 is the best I’ve had so far! Whether it’s Juli-Ann who rushes to get my packages as soon as she sees me walk through the doors or Kevin, the one-man maintenance squad or Leli, who always greets you with a smile or Alyssa, who took us all on an all-expense paid trip to a Cat Cafe (btw you should make it a monthly thing)! Existential dread just fades away after you pet a bunch of kitties :) They’ve also got a bunny hopping around the leasing office to keep you company. From a personal standpoint, this is the only complex with a light and fan included in the rooms! It’s handy when you’re too broke to turn on the AC. Plus check out the bitchin’ view from my room! Block36 should definitely be on your radar if you prioritize a hassle-free experience!
