I lived here during my last two years at Wayne State, and overall, it was a great experience. The location couldn’t be more convenient—just a short walk to campus, close to everything in Midtown, and right by a QLINE stop that made getting downtown super easy. One of the biggest pros was that the apartment came furnished. It wasn’t anything fancy—definitely had a college vibe—but it made moving in and out so much easier without the hassle of big furniture or appliances. As my first apartment, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the management team really set the bar high. Kelley was always kind, empathetic, and communicative—she made sure residents were informed and taken care of. Casey, the maintenance guy, was quick to respond to any issues and did a great job. The only thing I wish had been better was the communication around when maintenance would be stopping by—there were times we didn’t get a heads-up, which could be a little inconvenient. The building had its quirks—there were occasional issues with fruit flies and spiders, and we had trouble with inconsistent heating during the winter in both years I lived there. Management often brought in outside contractors to handle these problems, but not all of them were reliable, which sometimes led to delays. Despite those issues, I really enjoyed my time living here. In-unit laundry was a major convenience, the fitness center—though small—was a nice bonus, and my favorite part was “Yummies” on Wednesday once a month. On this day, management would cater food from local Midtown restaurants, and residents could stop by and grab a free plate on a first-come, first-served basis. It was a fun way to enjoy good food and connect with neighbors. No apartment is perfect, but this was a solid place to live, especially for students or young professionals. I made great memories here and would definitely recommend it to others looking for a convenient, safe, and community-oriented spot in Midtown Detroit. Thank you for everything Union at Midtown!

Living here is truly wonderful. It has many social advantages as well, you never feel lonely. Especially thanks to Kelley's great work, she is friendly, helpful, and a true problem solver. Casey, on the other hand, is the key person here. If you encounter any techinical issues, he immediately comes to your rescue☺️ unlike many other places, there is absolutely no pest problem here. Is is a very tidy and hygienic place to stay, and most importantly, it is very safe.

My only star is for Bethany in the office, who was always kind and helpful. Unfortunately, in my experience, the rest of the management seemed more focused on collecting money than addressing tenant concerns. I had air conditioning issues during my lease, and I didn’t notice an efficient after-hours repair process. I was also charged for amounts I personally disagreed with, based on my reading of the lease, and was sent to collections, which felt stressful and unfair to me. My security deposit was withheld without a clear explanation, which added to my frustration. As a tenant, I often felt the company assumed students wouldn’t fully understand their fair housing rights. If you’re considering renting here, I recommend reading the lease carefully and documenting all communications to protect yourself.

I lived here almost a year and honestly this place isn’t great the building doesn’t have central heating it just relies on the AC and it’s pretty weak in the winter and in the summer it wasn’t that good either I even reached out to maintenance about it and didn’t really get a response plus the app to get in barely works and the layout is kinda weird so if you’re looking for a normal apartment this probably isn’t the place for you

I’ve been living here for 2 months exactly today and have been loving it here. We’ve had a few issues within our unit, but maintenance has been great and comes relatively quick after submitting a maintenance order (depending on the time of day though of course). But he’s in and out within a few minutes and fixes things well. The people in the office are very nice and helpful; they respond to emails relatively quick as well which I appreciate. The location couldn’t have been any better either. I love being able to just walk outside the door and walk across the street to get on campus. Only downfall is I live on the first floor, which is fine, but it tends to be very dark in our apartment since there’s not much natural light and our view is a brick wall, giving us some privacy from the parking lot. But other than that, everything’s been great since I moved in!
