lived here for 3 years, has to genuinely be the most challenging season of my life. no AC, maintenance is practically nonexistent, they fell through my roof, and tried to charge me, painted over the mold instead of cleaning it, told me it wasn’t that hot outside when i told them my ac was out for the 10th time, and finally ROACHES. I had to practically move out of the apartment to get the roaches to die out, using specialized bait. I actually became incredibly educated on german cockroaches because of this complex. No washer and dryer, the facility charge ls 5$ to wash and dry a small load. Then the hot water randomly gets cut off like twice a month. has gone through about 4 management companies. overall please lease ANYWHERE, but here. trust me on this, do not lease here do not lease here do not lease here do not lease here!!

I was a resident at Starlite for a few years and moved out in July of 2024. Living here was average at best. January of 2024, there was no hot water at the complex and it took so long to fix, that the leasing office was offering appointments for residents to take hot showers at a different location. Maybe this happened under different management - it’s hard to keep track with all the management changes that have occurred during my residence here. There were also instances when the central A/C broke down over the summers and took some time to fix. I understand things break down and you can’t force new parts to deliver faster in the mail, but this was just part of my experience living at these apartments. It is also incredibly difficult to contact the leasing office. No one picks up the phone, they prompt you to leave a message, and then never get back to you. Good luck with emails, you won’t get a response back either. If you ever have an issue living here, my best recommendation is to visit the leasing office in person (which is located at a different property that they own) because it seems that’s the only way to get a response from them. I have been trying to reach the leasing office regarding my security deposit that is now almost 3 months late. I have called, emailed, and visited the leasing office to inquire about my money owed and to ensure they have the correct forwarding address. All I’ve been told is to just wait for it to come in the mail - however it is now more than past the 30 days they legally have in Texas to return my deposit. My last resort now is to send them a formal letter through snail mail and take legal action if so required. Best of luck to any and all future residents that choose to live at Starlite.

I am a current resident at the Starlite Apartments (lived here for about a year and three quarters) and might I say that Starlite Apartments are some of the worst apartments ever!!! First off, when me and my former roommate moved in, we immediately encountered roaches. No matter how much we kept clean they would always appear. I recently, come to find that they are German cockroaches. It's embarrassing to have guests over while roaches are popping out of cracks in the foundation. Upstairs is wood, the stairs are carpet and the floor downstairs is an ugly stained cement. Very inconsistent. Let's talk about the kitchen, where the roaches are the worst (might I add). I had doors on cabinets missing, the dishwasher wasn't assembled and the sink water didn't get hot. It took maintenance about a week and a half to get to us, but all of this should've already been done before we started to move in. In regards to the half bath, there was dried poop stuck on the bowl. It was disgusting. I went upstairs and immediately realized that the bathroom door had the top and bottom hinge missing, so when I tried to close the door, it wouldn't budge. My former roommate's dad had to fix it. Neither of our bedroom doors closed all the way either. I still have problems with my door to this day. There is black mold on the vents and on the ceiling of the bathroom. Roaches will crawl out of the vents and just die in your shower. I've had a roach fall on me while showering. Most terrifying experience ever. Management never answers and it's so frustrating especially if you don't have a car to get to the leasing office (they'll only assist you in person). Recently, there was a leak and I didn't have water for a day. When the water finally came back on, it was freezing (keep in mind, it's winter). The sink water is hot now but my left bathroom sink handle doesn't work at all and the hot water in my shower doesn't work. Don't live here if you can help it. You'd be doing yourself a huge favor.

The management before was so down to earth and kind, the new management that's been here about a year sucks. I tolarated my stay at the Starlite apartments. The initial low price kept me but now the prices aren't even low and the quality has gone down. It's impossible to get a hold of anyone on the phone at anytime. If you don't have a car, you're in luck to not be apart of the weird parking lot monthly thing they have going on but you'll never reach the office because they only listen to residents if you go in person. Downstairs Neighbors were extremely smelly with their dogs and would let them poop on the concrete in 100 degree weather and many complaints later, it's always smell like dog poop. We had roaches to which was at fault of the downstairs hoarding neighbors. When the neighbors moved, a cleaning crew had to deep clean the apartment and removed appliances because of how bad it was. When they cleaned and removed the debris the roaches went up. They ruined hundreds of dollars of food that wouldn't save. AC goes and breaks often and heated water is a gift when you actually get it. The apartments are outdated and used up. I hope you never have to do laundry because the washer and dryers are always broken. Speaking of broken, these apartments get broken into often. As well as the vehicles in the parking lot, including my own. You're close to the art building of UNT but at a cost of sanity sometimes. Overall I would not recommend Starlite apartments.

This place is infested with roaches and the complex does not care. I’ve also lived her for 4 years and I have never had a good experience with management. At one point, last year, I didn’t have hot water for 28 days. In the middle of the freeze the water pipe burst in my front yard so then we were without water for three days. My roommate has lived here for 2 months and has never gotten a mailbox key. Also, they charge us for parking and the standing water in the parking lot. Not to mention we get charged for pest control that never comes because the complex doesn’t pay them.
