West Village is still okay. However, UC Davis feels like an overpriced marketing machine wrapped in polished tours, glossy brochures, and endless self-congratulation. Behind the branding are bureaucracy, expensive housing, inconsistent academic support, and a culture where students can feel pressured to please professors instead of being judged fairly on merit. The university loves showcasing a handful of successful students while ignoring those who feel dismissed, discouraged, or harmed by the system. West Village may look nice, but attractive buildings do not fix poor value, weak accountability, or an academic environment that can reward conformity over independent thought. For the cost, UC Davis should deliver far more than polished appearances and institutional theater. In my experience, the return on investment does not match the reputation.

Bro I moved in two years ago with a broken light and a broken handle in my room, and the light got fixed two months after& no one ever come to fix the handle so I lived two year with a broken handle . After two years when I moved out, I got screamed by the staff bc me and my roommate(who renews AGAIN for next year) put stuffs in the living room (for context: I was approved to move out 10 days later). Thx for the amazing 2 years I guess.
