I was a renter from 2022-2025, and only am posting now since I got my deposit back and don’t have to worry about retaliation. The management may have changed now but the years I’ve been here, they have shown unprofessionalism in the way they discuss rent increases. During my 2nd yr here, they asked to increase my rent by 10%! I continued to discuss with management, but they dismissed me and treated me rudely, especially Tiffany Rupp. When I went to the front office she would roll her eyes and avoid me. Being a student and away from family, I was frustrated which led to nervous breakdown. It was only the financial manager who led me to her office to calm down, which I appreciate. Besides that, the facility is old and despite me cleaning the bathtub once a week, would have black markings that were mold/like on the rim. Wasn’t just me but all my housemates. Don’t recommend, and I hope the management has improved since then.

Never got my security deposit back and they tried charging me extra for damages that literally were not from my room. The pictures they used didn’t even match my unit and I had my own move-out photos proving it. I disputed it months ago and now they just won’t respond at all. Super frustrating experience honestly. If you live here definitely take photos/videos before moving out because this whole process felt shady.

I’d be 50/50 deciding to live here again. I’m going on my third year here, and haven’t moved out of convenience. Pros: modern and pretty nice amenities, furnished, own bed/bath layouts. Cons: very noisy, hit or miss maintenance, bugs. I LOVE having my own bedroom and bathroom in my apartment layout, which is why I’ve stayed. But, the outside AC generator and each individual bathroom filter fan is SO loud and can’t be turned off. I wake up every time I hear my roommate’s bathroom fan through the wall. Maintenance is kind but sometimes takes a long time to help, left a mess, or doesn’t fix the whole problem (like bathroom mold). I’ve also found a lotttt of silverfish bugs all the time everywhere which is kind of creepy. Depending on how much you need your own bedroom and bathroom, I think this could be a good option if you are willing to sacrifice other things. For the price might not be worth it because of distance to campus though. I don’t hate it but don’t love it.

UPDATE: 1 star rating to a 3.5 star rating In my previous update I stated how badly things went with my heating system, move-in day was dreadful, bug/ rodent issues on the first floor, slightly slanted construction, and some errors with roommate preferences. Due to how horrible my previous rating was, I was contacted by a regional employee (Jasmine you're the sweetest!) who discussed all the issues I faced while living at the U. After a nice conversation, I had a small change of heart of how I felt about the U and here's why: -I had some issues about resident referrals but they were all approved (this approval occurred before I received the referrals but it was a small battle I was facing and thought it wasn't going to get approved so I didn't mention it), the fact that an employee personally called me to apologize for the circumstances I faced plus we both had an adult conversation (trust me I've had people call me just to lecture me instead of actually resolving issues), and because I've been getting to know the leasing office employees more and they are helping me understand their standpoints of how difficult it can be to run an entire apartment complex. There's still more room for improvement at The U and I would highly suggest the U to implement a suggestion box or survey with some kind of raffle for all residents on how they can better their apartment complex. And again one star for Kyle (remembered my full name and apartment number), one for Jasmine (for taking time out of her day to talk about issues with me), and one and a half star for the beauty in this apartment (seriously everything is renovated so not that many dings in furniture just yet.) I'd rent here again if the prices were rising and if it wasn't so far from campus.

The management is nice to my roommates and I. The maintenance helps us all the time. Ty is goated and always fixes stuff in our apartment.
