The Colleges at La Rue Apartments, davis-ca

5 star experience all the way through! My wife and I lived here when we went to UCD and it was an incredible place to live. Close to the school, well maintained, and respectful neighbors. However, more recently I've experienced top of the line customer service from Rachel in the office. She has literally gone out of her way to ensure that a package which was shipped to my old address, is able to arrive to my now current address in SoCal. She was super kind and helpful each step of the way. She could have easily decided to not help out with this matter, but instead she went above and beyond. Thank you so much for your help, and I hope a raise is headed your way for your outstanding service!

This apartment complex was really bad. Only decent thing about it was the fact that it’s so close to campus but it’s infested with cockroaches at night (esp in the summer). The bathrooms mold often because it’s so old and there’s no proper ventilation (the fans don’t do much even tho we changed the filter) and all maintenance has to say is to clean it with bleach. If you’re gonna stay here at least get the second floor.

Living at The Colleges at La Rue has been nothing short of amazing. The entire team here is truly the best. They are always attentive, quick, responsive, understanding, and empathetic. Anytime we’ve needed anything, they’ve gone above and beyond to make sure we’re taken care of. When our dishwasher needed to be replaced, they handled it immediately, just like they do with every request. You can really feel how much they care about the residents and how committed they are to making this a great place to live. It’s rare to find such genuine kindness and dedication. I’m so grateful to call this community home.

Living at The Colleges at La Rue has honestly been one of the few highlights of being at UC Davis. The apartments are clean, modern, and conveniently located right on campus. Quiet surroundings, well-maintained facilities, and easy access to parks and the Farmers Market make this place feel like an actual community. The management is responsive, the environment is peaceful, and you get a sense of independence — something severely lacking in other parts of UC Davis. And then… you step off the property line and remember you’re still at UC Davis. The school itself is another story: broken systems, clueless administration, and a culture that rewards mediocrity while driving away anyone who takes their education seriously. You’ll deal with disorganized departments, performative activism, and an administration more concerned with PR spin than student well-being. It’s like The Colleges was built to remind you what UC Davis could be, but chooses not to be. If you have to be stuck at UC Davis, The Colleges at La Rue is about as good as it gets — just don’t expect the same quality from the actual university.

Excellent place to live, extremely prompt with all communications and understanding if any issues arise with the housing. Over the years here any regular maintenance issue I've had was resolved within the day, after hours maintenance was also extremely prompt and helpful, and all done professionally. All staff are friendly, grounds are kept clean, concerns are promptly addressed and the amenities (gyms and study rooms) are always clean and well kept! Rooms themselves are spacious and the property maintains them well.
