there was this kid named "zay", who i let sleep on my couch. He was the friend of someone who lived there. But they kicked him out. He stole a bunch of stuff from me, and other people in the building. He also broke into my apartment a couple times. Not cool. Other than that, very affordable housing, and decent units. They would always put snacks in the communal kitchen for us, which was pretty cool. Also the fitness room was awesome, and the staff and case workers were friendly.

After staying here at scholar house 3 after my original review from 2 years ago, I would say that things HAD gotten so much better compared to before for about a year and a half. The bug issues inside the units as for now have decreased over the years and the bug company hasn't been seen here recently is a huge win. There have been no huge fights and it feels safe to walk around scholar house without accidentally coming across any drama at all. And to that I just wanted to say thanks to our old property Manager Amanda and Gavin, our old caseworker. They both did an amazing job at everything, making sure we were safe, staying on top of our paperwork, ect. Everyone here at scholar house will miss you guys greatly. But now things have taken a slight turn for the worse. Starting around October to November of 2024 problems surrounding the CPO/CGI/CMHA organizations now skyrocketed to irritable nonsense. To my knowledge there's about 8 residents who currently have 30 day notices, including myself. It could range from the amount of money to pay rent here [ to my knowledge other residents currently have to pay 600-1000$ in rent or less than 10,000$ in back rents. Mine is 615$ on a part time 15$ job that was seasonal and completed a week ago] or paperwork certifications that don't get to our mail in time, ect. Our new property manager is doing everything she can with the resources she knows and has to get answers from these companies and the response is like talking to brick walls. [Going to the actual CGI/CMHA building doesn't help in the slightest either, kept getting told to go to a portal on a website that actually does more harm than good. ] There's no way for us to contact anyone else to help with these issues and when we do get into contact with anyone from whatever company they treat us like garbage and don't seem to want help at all. Not only that, the maintenance here is absolutely terrible (things are not getting properly fixed or having to wait months to get things done. One of my experiences was that I had to wait around 2 months for them to fix my air conditioning around the heatwaves we were getting in columbus. Which was a health hazard since I have a heart condition, work outside, and therapy animal cats with heart conditions themselves ) AND Homeless people continually go through our trash and it's getting everywhere. I heard from a couple of residents here that they had to PAY FEES because whoever has access to the cameras thought they put the trash all over the place instead. On top of that, Dear CPO management, there's about 20+ people that live here and you still don't have funding to give us a bigger trash container? Instead told us to go ACROSS THE STREET all the way to the back to throw away our trash if it's overfill or we will get fined for that too? Wth? We are all scared and worried about the future of our housing and we are already stressed about school already which has a huge impact on us staying here too. It's traumatizing going down the hallways sometimes, and hearing people crying because they don't know what to do nor where to live after their 30 day notices are up. This program/organization claims to help us “former foster youth” but treats us like we're pawns working for a company that doesn't care about nobody but state checks. SOME of the original review from 2 years ago: This place was fine at first when I moved in, until the multiple bug problems that keep coming out of nowhere. (Ants, spiders, centipedes) The pest control will come and spray the place but nothing will happen. Almost everyone in the entire complex had issues with the liquid their spraying and still preceded to use the same pest control company to spray our apartments with even though it is not needed to nor requested. The constant arguments and fighting that happens around here is painfully exhausting. Management has security patrolling at night but the fights don’t seem to decrease that much.I will say that this place is a safe place but I do hope that things will get better in the future.
