The Nine at Columbia, columbia-sc

Not only have my apartments been disgusting with roaches and bugs, but also filled my rooms with black dust, we believe was mold, and the front office did nothing to resolve the issue. When I first signed my lease they promised me they would do everything they could to help me find a sublease when I studied abroad, and they did absolutely nothing to help. They claimed they told me “it was my own responsibility to find a sublease”, absolutely the opposite they originally said. I just finished my last year here (thank god) and they promised me they found someone to take my parking so they can remove it from my bill, and I’ve been gone for a month and just PAID FOR PARKING they said they would remove. I seriously dislike this apartment complex and the incompetence I’ve had to deal with the past two years.

Absolutely disgusting is how I will start this review. My daughter and her other roommates moved in today and we were disgusted. There is someone that remained here and renewed their lease and was given an apartment cleanup procedures sheet and she did absolutely nothing! Now, we have to hire someone to come in and clean because the management stated the common area was not their responsibility! You gave a sheet of expectations to her and the ones who moved out, and management should have done a walk through to ensure it was in good shape prior to others moving in! I completely understand if they are living there but during a move in, then management should require the list they gave them to be completed. This is disheartening with what they charge per room to live here.

Honest review: my daughter lived at the 9 for a year; they were responsive to requests, the place is safe overall, the parking is convenient, the maintenance always showed up when there was an issue, the office staff were always helpful and they were very fair when we moved out (which is very unusual in college towns). We moved because it's fairly expensive but the utilities are pretty inexpensive and all in all I would have been fine if she had stayed another year. Yes, some of the places are getting worn but college kids put a beating on things and the furniture, etc. is not exactly super high quality to begin with.

If you’re looking for a luxury living experience with top-tier amenities, a great location, and an amazing community, The Nine is the place to be! I couldn’t recommend it more!
