I rarely leave reviews, but I feel people should know what to expect. My experience with Griffis Blessing was overshadowed by repeated unprofessional interactions with Regional Manager Denise Lacina. Mistakes happen in any business, but the way they are handled says a lot about a company’s leadership. In my experience, communication was often confrontational rather than solution-oriented. I expected a professional response from the appropriate department. Instead, I felt my questions were dismissed, and the conversation quickly escalated to threats of legal action before my request for documentation had been addressed. A company can recover from operational mistakes. It’s much harder to overcome poor leadership and unprofessional communication. Employees and former employees deserve to be treated with respect, especially when trying to resolve a legitimate question. I sincerely hope Griffis Blessing evaluates how leadership handles employee concerns because professionalism, transparency, and respectful communication should be the standard—not the exception.

If I could give this company ZERO STARS it would be more fitting. I was a co-signer for my son who moved into "The Hills Apartment Complex" in Colorado Springs back in June 2023. My son moved from the midwest to the springs to take advantage of the beautiful mountains, and all that goes with them. Being a co-signer on the lease, I spent about 1-2 weeks out there averaging every 90-120 days so I was able to get a real feeling of the building management. It would take me all day to explain the events that lead up to his horrific stabbing in the back. There were (2) unruly/dangerous tenants residing at the complex that were going around at all hours of the day/night harrasing other tenants, kicking in doors, and threatening the lives of not only my son, but other residents. There were Police reports filed, along with video taped evidence collected by multiple tenants including my son to evict these very dangerous tenants. It all fell on deaf ears as the management company failed to act in a responsible manner to keep these tenants safe. My son ended up coming to the aid of an elderly women against these (2) dangerous tenants. A brutal fist fight broke out and my son ended up being stabbed in the back with an 8" filet knive. He almost bled out and was taken to the hospital for serious injuiries. Thank God, he survived the incident but still struggles with both physical, and mental health problems related to this incident. My advice to anybody wanting to rent here, DON'T DO IT! The number 1 rule of apartment management/ownership is the safety of the tenants in the building! They failed to keep my son safe after numerous warnings. Google Colorado Springs, CO The Hills Apartment Complex stabbing on 9/2/24 and see the news story for yourself.

More accurate would be Griffis/Damnation: Property Mismanagement. They took over the previous property management company and have made a mess of everything. They transitioned everyone to a new portal 2 days before rent was due. They have a tight policy of pay on the first and are rejecting the renters insurance. They are quick to penalize tenants with fees, but not quick to respond or fix website issues. These simpletons put policies in place that are causing their own people to struggle. Who in their right minds makes deadlines so tight yet have a broken system that people cannot access? 2 stars is generous for this company.

Reviews matter to me because they are one of the few ways a customer can give raw feedback directly to owners, CEOs, and leadership teams. The feedback given has the ability to highlight areas that someone should be praised or coached in. Choosing the right leaders is one of the most important decisions a company can make. Today I had a conversation with a woman named Sarah, and I left genuinely impressed by the amount of knowledge she shared with me — with absolutely no benefit to herself. It felt less like an interview and more like a lecture meant to further my education. She spoke about everything from managing in today’s market to the intentional way she leads her employees. I heard passion. I heard respect. But most importantly, I heard the voice of the kind of leader I wish 25-year-old me would have had at the beginning of my career. In an industry that can often feel like a rat race to the top, Sarah spoke openly about her desire not just to be a boss, but a mentor. In just an hour, I saw the character of someone who truly understands what it means to start from the bottom. Too many people rise quickly before they’ve had the time to learn humility. Last night I was reading one of my favorite passages, John Chapters 13–15, where a man prepares to face betrayal and death, yet still chooses to wash the feet of those around him. That is humility in leadership. And today, that same spirit of humility is what I saw in Sarah. People like this deserve their flowers. So cheers to Sarah, and thank you for pouring into me today. Blessings, Shay

I had a horrible experience with the regional manager of my apartment complex. Her supervisor was wonderful - he reached out to me and resolved the situation; however, as long as Mary Beth White is with GB, I feel the duty to warn future clients of her actions. To say the very least, I had a major ordeal with my shower (months to address, hole in the wall, asbestos, no working shower for 5 days). I walked into the office and Mary Beth had the blinds pulled so it looked closed and she was sitting behind the desk with her feet kicked up doing nothing. She made statements saying I said things in an email I never said. I tried to tell her what she was saying was untrue and she started screaming at me and told me multiple times to break my lease and leave because she's not fixing anything in my apartment going forward (my thought is she wants to keep my $2250 deposit). I moved into this apartment complex in 2016, this is my home - GB took over management this year and Mary Beth thinks she's going to sit behind the desk with her feet kicked up, scream at me, accuse me of saying things I did not say, and tell me to leave MY home? And to top it all off, send me an email threatening me that if I get a lawyer no one at GB can talk to me about my apartment issues? (see email below, Maria is the on-site manager). I'm no lawyer, but my second dad is. Mary Beth is a liability making that statement because it is absolutely false. When I told my neighbor I have to sleep with my front door open because management will not fix my AC, he told me he had the same experience with Mary Beth and he had to seek legal consultation. (His experience: when GB took over, they dropped the price on his apartment style by $200; when he asked for fair market value when renewing his lease, Mary Beth screamed at him, too). My professional opinion is Mary Beth is a bully who intimidates and threatens others by screaming at them. I had a wonderful experience with her supervisor but I want to warn anybody who's thinking of becoming a client of GB to make sure you do not have Mary Beth take over your apartment complex. Things have been an absolute disaster here since GB took over and Mary Beth should have done a better job with management oversight to ensure a smooth transition and she failed.
