The Urban, chico-ca

I’ve been living for over a year now and the property management is absolutely terrible! First, my room doesn’t even look like the room i applied for, the floors are literally floors of a garage with a horrible paint job and paint on the ground. They originally showed me a room with hardwood flooring and a really nice kitchen but my apartment here looks no where close to that. They charge me over 1,200 for a bedroom I share with random people who steal my things all the time and I let them know but they don’t do anything about it. If u ever try to get packages delivered to here too, they steal them and then they act like they can’t help u find out who did it, when the mailroom is in there office with a camera right over it. I think it’s honestly the management people stealing our packages cause why else would they not want to show the footage or help out residents that live here! Then a couple of times I was home they literally just walk right in to my apartment without knocking or letting me know and had the audacity to say, “they thought I wasn’t home” when they had no reason to even be in my apartment which was so weird to me. I also pay another $100 a month just for a packing spot and the gate isn’t ever closed and I caught random homeless people walking around in there too looking for cars to break into. I have never lived at a place with such horrible management as this! Also if you have a dog they will be infested in fleas like what happened to mine because they allow and feed stray cats to sit outside the apartments all day, spreading viruses, parasites, and fleas to the other animals that actually pay to live here. They also don’t allow you to use to hot tube at night, which is so dumb because it’s not like u can use in the day time it’s too hot to use it, so nobody ever goes inside and just a waste. Do not live here it was a terrible mistake I made!

I’m really disappointed living at The Urban and feel like people should be aware before moving in. I will say that management does a decent job of keeping residents informed and communicating updates, which I appreciate. However, the security issues here completely outweigh that. Packages getting stolen has been a constant problem. Personally, I’ve had packages stolen at least 10–20 times. When this is brought up, management essentially dismisses it, saying they aren’t responsible for stolen packages in the mailroom. While I understand the technicality, it’s become such a widespread issue that residents can’t reliably receive deliveries anymore. There is a camera in the mailroom, but we were told it’s actually facing away from the packages, which honestly feels intentional and makes the situation even more frustrating. I’ve even reached out directly to management via email and received no response. On top of that, car theft has also been an ongoing issue. Multiple cars have been stolen, yet management refuses to install cameras in the parking garages. At the end of the day, it doesn’t feel safe or secure living here, and that’s something that should be a priority for any apartment complex. I can’t recommend living here based on these ongoing problems.
