The Social Chico, chico-ca

I’ve had such a great experience living in these dorms! The rooms are comfortable, the common areas are always clean, and the overall atmosphere feels really safe and welcoming. Maintenance is quick to respond, and the staff is super helpful and friendly.

The Social Chico is an awesome place to live! The staff are always nice and willing to help you with any questions you have. The rooms are spacious and clean. The best part is having the gym, Starbucks, and dining hall a couple steps away!! Along with this, there are events like movie nights and cookie decorating that give you a community vibe. Overall, The Social is college friendly and an amazing place to live!

I wish I could give zero stars. Terrible place to live. I know it's cheap, but there other cheap options in Chico that would be better than this. ***There are a bunch of new good reviews cause they're giving people Starbucks vouchers for leaving reviews.*** - The parking lots are not patrolled at all, but it still costs $100+ to get a parking pass. My friend didn't have a parking pass, and they towed her car, but they didn't even know which towing company they called and wouldn't help her figure out where her car went. - The place all together is DISGUSTING. Black mold everywhere. they just slap paint on stuff to fix it. Our carpet is so dirty that just walking to the bathroom makes your feet black, and we have tried everything to clean it. - The roommate matching is a joke. The person I am suite mates with is genuinely crazy and no matter how many times I place a complaint they don't do anything. On top of that, they don't even tell you who your roommates are going to be until like the day before move in. - The staff acts how you would expect college students to act. They do their best during the hours that they are there, but they don't really care and they're clearly just there to get their paycheck and leave. The dining hall staff is relatively nice, but the food is just not good. Every now and then they'll make something good, but that's rare. And they take sooo long. I went in and got a quesadilla the other day and it took an hour and a half - Instead of spending money on security cameras, a security guard, better food, better facilities, more maintenance workers, or anything that would be remotely helpful. They instead hired a 'courtesy patrol' person who's just a college kid who walks around and tells people to be quiet, and they painted some doors. - last thing, as a room of 4 freshmen, who are all girls, I just find it a bit strange that our neighbors are 2 grown, and like old men. just kinda creepy, especially when you market this place to live to be for students. Basically, don't live here unless you wanna be miserable and hate college :)

called the social to get info bc my daughter is thinking about transferring to chico. she wants to live w students but doesn’t know anyone there. i spoke w joanna and she was very pleasant and informative. seems like a fun place!

My room had mold all in the restroom the room didn’t even look like what they toured us with. They have staff who look at you as if you’re dumb for asking for help. They had repeated dining hall food that contained raw chicken. The cooking staff were unhygienic there was hair consistently in my food. The amount you’re paying is not worth it at all. You’re better off going anywhere else. You can also forget about getting your deposit back as they will find anything to keep it. They also tried to charge me with something they literally took out of my room and when I called it was basically just a well you’re lucky you don’t have to pay for it. Don’t waste your time here.
