The Flats at Loyola Station, chicago-il

Stayed at Loyola Flats while visiting family in the area. The location can’t be beat, right down the street from a CVS, red line station, and restaurants. The downsides: the apartment is serviceable but lacked a few things: no hangars whatsoever in any closet (but yet they had a clothes steamer (?) ), no kitchen towels, no dish drain, no oven mitts. The apartment is obviously set up for extended stays, why not have all the basics so occupants can cook? It’s expensive to eat out at every meal.

Terrific option near Loyola. Clean, roomy, thoughtfully appointed with everything needed to stay and even cook here. We loved having a balcony, even though there isn’t really a view except of a neighborhood street. Parking was great. We will be back! We were a little confused about checking in - no phone contact at check in (although in fairness we were here for a holiday weekend), no personal contact whatsoever. We called a phone number provided and got the Loyola student center: we asked if we could be transferred to Loyola Flats and operator hung up. There could be more info provided re restaurants in area and train info, especially since there’s no concierge.

The aesthetic is nice. However, the mattress in the master bdrm is awful in unit 402. It’s worn and sinks in. It felt gross. Also, the washing machine is full of mildew and smells horribly foul. For the price we were expecting better quality in regards to beds and furniture and it would’ve been nice to have been able to wash clothes as this is an amenity advertised.

I had an incredible stay at the Flats! From the moment I walked in, I noticed how spacious and clean the suite we stayed in was. The natural light was gorgeous and great for getting ready in the morning! The location was ideal, just steps away from the Loyola station and had a great variety of restaurants just around the block. I can't recommend this place enough! Whether you're visiting for business or pleasure, this hotel truly goes above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. I'll definitely be back!

Really enjoyed our stay at The Flats; convenient location, nice large suites that sleep up to 6 for a very reasonable price. Our group reserved two room right next to each other and enjoyed the ability to cook meals and enjoy them together in the living room. All interactions with staff were cordial and any issues that arose were quickly resolved. Better than Airbnb. Will definitely be staying here again for our next trip to Chicago.
