I’ve genuinely had such a great experience living here. The staff is amazing and everyone is friendly, professional, responsive and always willing to help whenever needed. The building itself is beautiful, well-maintained, and the amenities are one of my favorite parts. Everything feels modern, clean, and thoughtfully designed, which makes living here really enjoyable. Great location, walkable distance from the universities in the city so very convenient. I also really appreciate the atmosphere of the building. It feels comfortable, safe, and welcoming, and the management team clearly puts effort into maintaining a high standard for residents. Overall, I would definitely recommend this apartment building to anyone looking for a great place to live!

Best apartment experience! I applied for summer housing from June to August and was looking for a place in Chicago that felt safe, comfortable, and homey. I was referred to Straits Row, and I’m so happy I chose it. What stood out first was the people. Before move-in, I had questions about the unit, the building, and the process, and the team was always patient, clear, and helpful. From leasing to the front desk, security, and building staff, every interaction has been kind and positive. The apartment itself has been wonderful. It is clean, modern, well-kept, and in such a great location. The building has a warm feel to it, and I love that it brings together people in all different stages of life. I would absolutely recommend Straits Row to anyone looking for a beautiful place to live in Chicago. So thankful for the people who make it such a special place! :))

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel it’s important to share an honest experience here, especially since I don’t see many residents talking about the real issues of living in this building. The common areas are nicely designed, and the front desk staff are generally friendly. However, my living experience has been extremely frustrating. I live in a 4-bedroom unit and have been dealing with ongoing HVAC issues. In this layout, three of the bedrooms share an AC unit located in one of the rooms. As a result, the other rooms receive little to no heating during the winter. After spending a significant amount of time communicating with management, the maintenance team’s “solution” was to keep the fan running 24 hours a day. This creates constant, loud noise in the room where the unit is located—so loud that it is difficult to sleep, and at times I had to sleep on the living room couch. Management later arranged for us to move to another unit, but the issue was not resolved. The new unit still has the same problem—some residents are extremely cold, and the same 24/7 fan solution is being used, causing continuous noise and disruption. This is not a real solution. It feels like tenants are being asked to tolerate a systemic building issue rather than having it properly fixed. I have spent a great deal of time communicating, moving, and adjusting, yet I am still dealing with the same problem. This has seriously impacted my living conditions and overall experience, and it has been very exhausting. Especially during Chicago’s harsh winters, I would strongly recommend not living in a building with ongoing heating issues like this.

I’ve been looking for a new place in Chicago to call home and I think I found it! Straits Row has everything that I want for a building! Josh (the leasing specialist) needs a raise ! The caprisun was a nice touch as well. He was so accommodating and patient to show all the units to me. I had such an incredible experience with him. I decided to apply right then and there! I hope to call Straits Row my new home and excited for what’s to come!

This is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed at! The area, the rooms, everything is just so wonderful, especially the workers. one worker in particular who works at the front desk, Sam, was so incredibly kind and helpful for me when I first moved in. He gave me a lot of great suggestions on what’s around the area. I would definitely recommend talking to Sam when you move in, and just overall staying here.
