My review somehow disappeared, so I am reposting it because I think it will help consumers make an informed decision to live here (or not). I lived at North Water twice- in unit 2806 in 2020 and in unit 3307 in 2022. During that time, this building and management were top notch. Rent was reasonable, management was amazing and responsive - KJ, the concierge, was so helpful and kind, and DeCarlo, one of the workers in the office was always attentive and there for a chat if you popped in to say hello. I moved to Washington D.C for work, but considered coming back to Chicago a few years later. When I applied at that time to this complex, I was unaware it had been sold to a new management company. I think that probably happened sometime in 2022-2023 or so, if I had to guess. This new management company... lets just say their level of incompetence and extreme unprofessionalism came through via email relatively quickly and I was shocked by it. There's a lot I could repeat here, however the major glaring issue I noticed was this: when I reached out to them, I let them know I was staying at my parents for a few weeks in Wisconsin to help after some medical issues. This new management team demanded that I provide them with the tax information and deed to my parents house.... even though I repeated over and over that I was not claiming I live there, I was simply visiting. They said that they needed all rental history...I repeated again I did not live there, I was simply visiting. They told me they were not able to rent to me without my parents house information. I have not lived with my parents in over 20 years. I contacted an attorney to ask if it was even legal that this management company could demand housing information for a home that is not mine and I do not live in, the attorney seemed to think they could not do this. As I typed this review, I looked up the emails and they were from a Jeanine Harden, where she consistently asked for my parents home information, and I repeatedly stated to her that I did not live there, I was simply visiting - it's a little mind blowing now to read these emails back..it's pretty clear she either was not even reading what I was saying, or.. I'm not sure- very bizarre either way. In the end, I told the team at North Water that I was not interested in anymore- I would never rent from a company that seemed to have no clue how to do their job the ethical and appropriate way. I rented at another luxury apartment and had absolutely zero issues with me simply visiting my parents (aka this other company took my rental history down, and did not care one bit about a trip I was on visiting my parents, which is exactly how it should be). At the end of the day, It was such a bizarre interaction with this management company- it made me sad to see that North Water had changed so much in the time I had been away from Chicago. I hope people living here have had a much better experience, but reading over the most recent reviews, it does not sound like it. The building is wonderful, the city views and lake views are nice, they have a really good gym, but if you have a poor management team... that can really make or break your living experience somewhere. I also do not know if they are still doing a 500 dollar non refundable fee when you apply, but be wary of that. I've rented luxury homes since 2005, in various major cities in both the US and Europe, and I have never seen a fee that high when you apply (and nonrefundable too). Hope this information helps someone out there.

I have resided in North Water Apartments for the past few years, and it’s been a wonderful place to live. Located in the heart of Streeterville, it is close to so many fantastic restaurants, shops, and entertainment options. The building itself is beautiful and well kept, and you won’t find better views anywhere in the city. The staff is warm, friendly, and always helpful, especially our concierges Mo and Ashley, and our engineer Jaime. Our property manager, Jeanine Harden, has gone above and beyond whenever I’ve had questions or needed assistance, always responding promptly and thoughtfully. Whether you’re new to Chicago or have lived here for years, this building offers both the luxury you’re looking for and a sense of community, which is hard to find in many residential high-rises.

When speaking with Dimitri about the potential of moving to North Water Apartments my experience was beyond amazing. Not only was Dimitri kind, which is hard to find that type of interaction these days. He knew the property so well and knew how that would fit into what I was looking for in a new home. The views of this property were breathtaking! It made me fall in love with the city all over again. Thank you so much Dimitri for your knowledge and assistance.

.... I have lived in Houston, San Francisco, Kansas City, Maine, and I’m a frequent flyer to NYC, And for me I love Chicago so much. After living one year in Streeterville neighborhood, I got to know the good apartments complexes around. I signed a contract with a very fancy brand new apartment complex in the area after extensive search. That was before I visited the North Water Apartments. when I stopped by to visit north water, the calm friendly DeCarlo did the tour. The design and the views of North Water were so difficult to ignore. They have the smartest design of apartments I have seen so far. The views are absolutely amazing. I don’t need a sauna or Jacuzzi because I want to enjoy my apartment the most. This apartment complex is focused on the apartment itself experience. They do have an amazing gym with lovely views of the lake. The top floor lounge is absolutely wonderful. The only downside sometimes it’s reserved so you can’t show your friends around especially if they’re visiting from out of states for a weekend or a short time. The staff are very friendly. Parking is only for residents $300 a month. Definitely recommend staying here. For improvement ( from the bottom of my heart as I own this place): 1- The windows blinders are difficult to handle and they look cheap. They could upgrade them to an easier better looking shades. 2- the couch by the front desk has stains and doesn’t look nice. Time to change it. 3- I frequently clean the hallway in front of the elevators. Would be nice if housekeeping checks daily or every other day or at least once every 3 days. 4- The big white table on the top floor lounge with glass on top looks cheap and doesn’t belong to that super fancy lounge with the most amazon marble decor. Would be nice if they change it to a more efficient, comfortable and economic-on-space tables. Peace!
