Article Student Living, chicago-il

Article Student Living bought up my apartment (in Corvallis, OR of all places) and made Place 2B Properties manager. Now they're continuing to accept rental applications despite having plans to tear it all down and build another "student housing" type place. We haven't even been officially notified of this yet. When do you plan on letting residents know that you'll be kicking them out? There are several long-term residents here who aren't students who would probably appreciate the notice. Why choose Place 2B? Since the purchase, management has been unresponsive, rude, and unhelpful. If you live near a college campus, keep your fingers crossed that Article doesn't buy your apartment complex halfway across the country too just to build another cramped, high cost, poor maintenance, hotel-like apartment with "luxury" amenities no one is asking for. Just because we're students doesn't mean we don't deserve traditional housing like townhomes.

Rise in Austin, TX was incredibly rushed with multiple amentities and even essentials not working. The building was complete 3 months after we were promised we'd have a place to stay, and 12 months later still feels incomplete. TLDR: everything has been broken for a year, and the staff is nonexistent so good luck fixing it. We periodically have power outtages and no water, with minimal communication from staff. I have been missing a part for my sink for 12 months, and they've come in 4 times and done nothing. My roommate's toilet has been broken, and similarly after 3 visits nothing has changed. The biggest problem is that their staff consists of student workers. Every problem we tell them gets responded with "we can't do anything about that", or "you'd have to talk to corporate". So my roommates and I have lived with a broken toilet, doorknob, sink, window, closet, and dishwasher with minimal or no help and communication.

I had a very terrible experience with a property that this company managed. It ended with them selling the property in the middle of the semester (resulting in many leases being terminated). I had plenty of issues before the sale as well. I would recommend living somewhere not managed by Article.

I have been with Article Student Living for quite a while and I absolutely love my time here! As a whole I have never met a corporate team who genuinely cares about their staff and residents more
