The Grove Apartments Cheney, cheney-wa

Changed pay system last min with less then 2 weeks notice. Get a shady letter tapped to my door letting me know I have 2 weeks to come up with a paper check for rent because their system is going to be down! Sent an email didn’t get a reply, sent another, guess what, same difference. I am a single mother and I got stuck signing three lease agreement amendments that jumped my rent double so 1590 a month when I signed a lease for an entire apartment for 850. Everything is dying, there’s no internet, the power goes out ridiculously often and the gates never work. My apartment has been broken into on four different occasions in the last year, and nothing was done and I’m stuck in a 2 year lease. So, not only am I about to be homeless because they won’t take split pay just this month 🙄 and I work. It’s just a cash grab again and they threaten you with severing your lease if you don’t let them do whatever they want. So, run. This last year has been a nightmare. I haven’t trusted Mantienence enough to fix the broken apartment they gave me. I’ve posted pictures from when I first moved in back in 2025. It was and is still that way because, again, shady employees. Run. Run. Run. Never again.

Any cons they have are greatly outweighed by the pros. The cons are hearing the train (which you will anywhere in Cheney), dated furniture with general wear and tear, and the showers not having a detachable wand. The pros are just about everything else. Price and location cannot be even close to beat. Private bedrooms with your own full size bathroom and walk-in closet is great space. The shared living area is spacious and never feels crowded. It comes pre-furnished, your room has a bed frame, mattress, desk, chair (uncomfy but oh well), dresser, and end table. The amenities such as the club house, pool, gym, and tanning beds are a great feature. The staff are all great, maintenance is very fast and efficient. The snow care team is incredibly well prepared. They also host fun events on occasion, such as movie nights, paint-a-pumpkin, or thirsty thursdays.

I’ve had a great experience living at The Grove at Cheney Apartments. The staff is always helpful, friendly, and quick to respond whenever I need anything. The community feels clean and safe, and maintenance requests are handled fast. The units are spacious, the location is perfect for students and young adults, and the amenities make daily life really convenient. I appreciate how the management communicates clearly and keeps everything organized. Overall, it’s been a smooth, positive living experience, and I definitely recommend The Grove to anyone looking for reliable and comfortable housing in Cheney.

Rude and unprofessional staff, especially Mario. All they care about is getting your lease signed. Internet has gone out multiple times here and is out currently without any word from them. Would never consider renewing here

It’s been a mostly enjoyable experience! Maintenance has been quick in my experience. It looses a star bc it definitely could have been cleaned more prior to my move-in but it wasn’t unlivable. Good for a college kid on a budget! :)
