The reviews are bad for a reason. The reviews are good because you get rewards for doing them. Here’s the truth. When you walk into the building you are met with a stench that is unexplainable. It’s like a mixture of sewage, mildew and mold, maybe even weed and something to mask all of it. It’s foul. You walk down the hall and are met with stains upon stains all over the carpet… right outside the bathroom which makes me believe there was some sort of sewage issue. The elevators down the hall are hell. When you walk into them, they REEK! Worse than the halls on the first floor. I have even seen footprints on the elevator doors?! Only took about 7 days to be cleaned. If you thought this was bad, I am just getting started. The communal washer and dryers are some of the nastiest things I’ve seen. This is not your typical communal item that needs a little sanitization. These laundry rooms ARE NASTY! Yes there are mystery liquids as another person wrote about. All the way from blue to brown liquids in the soap dispenser, tacky sticky floors, dirt, grass, hair, cat and dog fur & anything else you can think of in these washer and dryers. I could go on. I attempted to do a load of laundry, then I noticed how gross these things were. I decided to grab my cleaning supplies from my room and wipe some parts of it down before starting the cycle. When I got back with my supplies I just couldn’t. I used a paper towel and scooped out the cloudy liquid from the lip of the washer before removing my clothes and deciding to do my laundry elsewhere. I considered just using my laundry sanitizer…but trust me, these things need to be deep cleaned. Even if I ran my clothes through a wash cycle, I’d be worried of them smelling like mildew when they came out. I regret everyday that I signed a lease here, and I am counting down the days until I’m gone. You have so many other factors to consider when deciding if this place is a good fit, and this just grazed the surface of my complaints and concerns. I have plenty more negative things to say about Benjamin Lofts, but for now this will do.

Do not move here. I’ve had so many issues with this place, the disrespect and lack of communication is crazy. Don’t put people with roommates you know are breaking their lease?? $300 for damages that don’t cost more than $30. There are so many unnecessary ways they steal money from tenants. The laundry is disgusting, you would think for $1.50 a load they would at least clean it. I’ve been so disappointed with this place.

I had a terrible experience with The Benjamin Lofts, and I feel compelled to warn others. After being a reliable tenant and always paying my rent on time, I was shocked by how poorly the management handled my security deposit and apartment issues. For two years, I informed them about damage in the apartment that they never bothered to address. To make matters worse, after vacating the apartment, they refused to return my security deposit and slapped me with an outrageous $400 bill for a cardboard door that should cost no more than $35-$50. Their words and promises never matched their actions, and they continually failed to communicate or provide any reasonable explanations. This management team is completely neglectful and unprofessional. If you’re considering moving here, I strongly urge you to reconsider. Your money is better spent somewhere else!

I moved in here a month ago and I'm very happy with my room. The staff are very friendly and approachable. Questions and concerns were quickly answered and resolved. Brennan, David, and Danny were very helpful. My kitchen ceiling started leaking about a week after my move in due to a faucet being left on upstairs by another tenant. However, Charlie from emergency maintenance was quick to resolve the leaking, and Andy did a superb job repainting the ceiling like new. Packages arrive quickly as well. There's a great recreation center at EWU that's 2 blocks away and a new water park being built right next door. Parking here is an additional $15. A bus stop a block away will take me to downtown Spokane in 30 minutes, and STA is upgrading the busses to double-decker busses next year so I'll be riding in style. I'm very pleased with my decision to move here!

Overall good experience so far ! Very clean and organized for move in. This made the process fast and smooth. Really love the safety of the buildings and parking lots. The laundry situation is the only issue i’ve run in to. The washers smell bad and it is expensive to pay for each load even if the machine glitches. If your laundry isn’t dry you have to pay for another cycle. Wish it was cheaper so it wouldn’t add up to so much!!!
