Holton Mountain Rentals, boone-nc

I lived with Holton around 4-5 years ago and they were my first landlord in Boone. I wasn't aware how amazing I had it with Holton until I switched to other landlords in town. I have lived with a different landlord every year in attempt to find one I liked and I plan to return to Holton after going through four other rental companies. These other companies in town are scamming you, or do not take care of their properties, or both! Holton is the only one that is consistently cleaned between tenants, updated regularly, and their office staff is the nicest in town BY FAR (may be tied with App South for nicest office staff). I also have had a few rental companies that were VERY nosy, and I mean coming into my bedroom while I am in the bathroom in the shower. As a young professional woman, it is imperative to have a SAFE and CLEAN place to live and I feel that Holton is the only group in town that does both.

Very shady place… I mean all of the rental companies around Boone are pretty bad but this has by far been the worst I would look elsewhere. Me and my partner were applying for one of their properties and they had told us we would get a refund if we were not applicable. When we got denied we contacted them for a refund they told us we couldn’t have our money back. They didn’t even offer us any solutions. Weird ah place.

Our daughter lived at 120 Faculty St for 3 years. The location was literally on the edge of campus, hence the name Campus Point Apartments. Holton Mt Rentals was fantastic. A family run operation that takes pride in having safe and clean places for students to live. They were so attentive to minor maintenance requests. They changed out the refrigerator one Fall without being asked. The next year, our girls got a brand new washing machine and dryer. Someone in the office is always available to talk, usually picking up on the first ring. I cannot say enough about the quality of accommodation, care for their tenants plus the excellent customer service the Holton Mountain Family offers. I highly recommend using them for your student at Appalachian State.

Make sure you don’t park in this lot even with school out and on Saturday. You WILL be towed even if the Lot is Empty. Money Grab Company. Looks like the ratings show what kind of company this really is. Boone should be proud to host this company.

These people are liars, cheats, and take advantage of students at any given opportunity. Of course, the “ladies” in the office claim to be Christians. I suspect they will be in for a warm surprise one day. When you move out, they will charge you for damage that you documented when you moved in. They will not actually fix it, because they are going to charge the next tenant for that damage as well. Even when presented with the documentation, they still said they could and would charge and there was nothing we could do about it. It took the threat of hashing it out in small claims court to get them to back down. I don’t think Jesus would be very approving of their unethical bullying and stealing. They are so bad that it has been 5 years since I lived in one of their properties and it STILL crosses my mind occasionally. Unless you want to be taken advantage of, live in substandard and unclean properties, and deal with dishonest staff, steer clear of Holton Mountain Rentals. They are the scummiest people I’ve ever interacted with and the mere sight of them makes me want to vomit. (Exception: anyone hired since 2020, I haven’t dealt with and may be lovely people)
