Here’s a direct, no-nonsense review: I would not recommend living at Lark Bloomington. The apartments may look nice during the tour, but the problems start once you move in. Management is disorganized, communication is poor, and billing lacks transparency. Residents are charged fees that staff often cannot clearly explain, and additional costs seem to appear without accountability. Maintenance and cleanliness are also major concerns. Reports of insect issues were not taken seriously, and move-in conditions did not match expectations. At move-out, excessive cleaning and damage charges were assessed for issues that either existed before move-in or were simply normal wear. Parking is another frustration. Residents have paid for parking only to lose their assigned spaces, then be forced to pay more for garage parking after rates increased. To make matters worse, utility charges continued even when the apartment was unoccupied, leaving the impression that students are being charged without reasonable justification. Overall, Lark Bloomington feels more focused on collecting fees than providing quality housing or customer service. There are far better student housing options in Bloomington. Save yourself the frustration and rent somewhere else. P.S. Take pictures of everything if you are silly enough to live here!

DO NOT LIVE HERE. Save your money and go elsewhere. Ever since the new management (Lark) took over the original Current, it has been the worst experience ever. All the staff are genuinely extremely rude and useless on ego trips who are ready to argue with you more than actually help you. They will try to charge you for anything and everything every chance they get. Extremely overpriced for such minimal they have and give. There isn’t a single friend or neighbor of mine that I know that has had a good experience with them. I have been down to the office countless times times with help and questions and rarely do they ever help and instead sit there telling me it’s just my problem and that there’s nothing they can do about it. The manager is extremely rude and if you try to meet with her you’re told she isn’t able to and that she’s on meetings all day, but realistically she barely comes in office and when she does she’s just sitting in her office doing nothing. They purposely try to avoid any complaints. And the staff if the laziest I’ve ever seen. You can’t get in contact with anybody through the phone because they have an AI bot that says that the staff is occupied right now and can’t get to the phone. I have never been able to reach them over the phone and have always had to go in office in which they still are useless and say they can’t help. And the worst of all, there is a man there who works at the front desk with a mustache who is the rudest sassiest man I’ve ever come across. Complete ego trip! Dawson is great though, if it wasn’t for him I would have lost my mind living here. No wonder this place is completely empty and nobody lives here anymore. I will NOT be coming back! P.S. Since posting this review, they tried to charge me over $500 for “cleaning” fees and “damages” after move out day. Even though I have videos and proof of the apartment before move in and it after move out. I left the place spotless with everything being clean. Yet they still somehow tried to charge me over $350 simply for cleaning fees. And tried to charge me for “damages” that don’t exist besides the ones that were there when I already moved in. THEY WILL TRY TO SUCK YOUR MONEY DRY ANY CHANCE THEY GET. DO NOT LIVE HERE. They also are notorious for trying to take legal actions when things like this happen. But good thing I have proof and am ready to fight in court if necessary.

As a parent of a student who lived here, I want to warn everyone to stay as far away from Lark Bloomington as possible. It is absolutely awful. The place looks nice on the outside, but inside is a different story. Walls are thin, and you can hear everything all the time. The quality of the units is very low. The included furniture and kitchen cabinets are as low-quality and cheap as they could possibly be, yet passable at first sight. But the worst part of this place is its management and service personnel. Getting packages is a nightmare because they only receive them during certain times, are closed on weekends (which apparently neither Amazon, FedEx, nor UPS know about or care about), and the people who work there are fairly rude. On checkout, they made up over $300 in cleaning charges for absolutely nothing - every little paint discoloration on the walls resulted in a made-up charge (most of these were there upon move-in). And a charge for the bathroom tub not being spotless, even though it was awfully dirty upon move-in. Finally, they rent in 12-month cycles, so even though your student isn't there during the summer, you are still paying full rent. Really terrible student housing rental option in Bloomington. I strongly suggest you stay away and look for other options with better quality and better and more honest management.

AVOID THIS PLACE!!!! DO NOT SIGN UP HERE!!! I’m still traumatized by my experience in this apartment and the negative reviews are sufficient evidence for anyone who love themselves to avoid this place. They are inconsistent, have extremely poor management and rude, sometimes racist staff. You pay renters insurance fee every month in addition to your rent, yet they charge ridiculous repair bills to your account when you move out for the smallest wear and tear. They completely ignore the renters insurance you paid and magnify the extent of the repair, which is in fact nothing more than a common wear and tear, even when you cleaned your place thoroughly when moving out. They did this to 8 of my friends/course mates who lived in the apartment too! All the incentives marketed to you such as free coffee in the lobby, common area computers, bus, etc while signing the lease, are abruptly removed by the management once you have signed your lease and moved in, often without any prior communication to you. They engage in crooked marketing and pricing where they let you know if you don’t sign your lease or renew it now, you would be unable to have any spot, thereby creating a false impression of high demand. Due to pressure, you’d end up signing or renewing at a high price only for you to realize a few days later that they brought down the price on their website. The management and staff have inconsistent policy about when you can use the open games area for your event like a small birthday party. They approve your use and in the middle of your event, show up with their security and ask everyone to leave immediately, saying no approval was granted. The maintenance is horrible and takes days before they show up to fix a reported problem in your room. The walls are extra thin too! Do not be deceived by their responses to all the negative reviews here. In real life, are not not responsive, responsible, and respectful. They use AI for customer service and you end up not getting any connection to a human being unless you have walked to the reception/lobby in-person. If you have any emergency in your room and call their front desk, you’d get an AI chatbot that doesn’t help at all. DO NOT RENT THIS APARTMENT IF YOU LOVE YOURSELF OR CHILDREN OR FRIENDS! IT IS A TERRIBLE PLACE. I AND ALL MY FRIENDS AND COURSE-MATES WHO STAYED THERE LEFT WITH REGRETS AND HURTS!

Pls just don’t live here. Moved into an uncleaned, dirty apartment and the issues just continued after that. Fridge and freezer broke twice and it was near impossible to get ahold of “24/7” maintenance so everything had to be thrown out. Water leaking from ceiling. And much more. Oh! And I have to pay for some of this as a clean out fee when it wasn’t my fault. Save your self the headache and go someplace that isn’t sketchy with charges and will actually take care of maintenance issues.
