0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND! THE PHOTOS ARE FROM JULY 23rd, 2026 THE DAY I MOVED OUT! You can clearly see there are no damages, i extra deep cleaned, and left the unit how it was given to me! I will say our unit is more clean than most units in that building! I lived here from August of 2024 to July 2026 (2 years) so I am very familiar with the so called agents in the leasing office. Need a whole new management team ASAP! I've had a leasing lady steal my phone out the mail and try to tell me my package never came and she had it in her bag in the office whole time! Lauren and Campbell were aware of this! I had to call the police to come review the footage because they would not allow me to see footage without the police. They let people live in roaches and bugs and do not send out pest control or maintenance for them, We had to buy bug bombs ourselves! We have sent in so many maintenance requests (paper trail) and they barely send people out to make sure our living conditions are good! We also had black mold which was caused from water leaking from the AC under the wood floors so it caused mold and it took them over 3 months to finally fix it all the way. Also Lauren and Campbell do not know how to speak with certain tenants, they are very dismissive (especially to someone of color)! I would never let anyone close to me stay at this building just based off how they handle certain people. They always coming into peoples rooms unannounced and start giving out fines however she's feel in that moment which i didn't know was legal to do so. I just moved out July 2026 and I am just supposed to pay my utilities for this month but she has charged me and my roommates full month rent for "damages" but the only damages there were... were the ones that were already there when we moved in and put maintenance requests (paper trail) in for and they never came to fix it in the 2 years I was in that unit! So we do not know why she is trying to get all the money out of us. I took pictures and videos of it before I turned my key in, Thank God so I can address what she is trying to do to us for no reason! If you do decide to live here KEEP a paper trail and witnesses!!!! 0/1000000000 DO NOT RECOMMEND

If I could give this place 0 start I would!!! I lived at alight from January 2025 to July 2026 and I would advise anyone thinking of moving here to RUN!!! The employees in the leasing office, Lauren and Campbell, are EXTREMELY dismissive to any issues tenants may have , especially if you’re a person of color. I had met with Campbell about reporting a noise complaint and she literally asked me “What do you want us to do about that?”. In the year and a half that I lived at Alight my apartment had flooded TWICE. I’ve had to call the cops on my upstairs neighbors for noise complaints because the leasing office wouldn’t address it. Random people would come into the complex and get in the pool, which I didn’t necessarily mind, but on two occasions randoms people have tried climbing over my balcony and entering my apartment (for context I stayed on the first floor). There’s been times when people had shot their guns off in the building at night. 8 cars were broken into in the parking deck that they make us pay to park in! There is always garbage and roaches in the hallway near the trash chute. I’ve even talked to other tenants and they’ve reported mold and roaches in their apartments🤮. If you or your child are thinking about staying at Alight Birmingham I would highly suggest you rethink your decision. This place needs new management asap!

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with the management at Alight Birmingham has been extremely disappointing. My interactions with management have been consistently unpleasant. Every time I have gone to the office with a question or concern, I have felt unwelcome. They often make dismissive facial expressions while you’re speaking, which makes you feel like you’re bothering them simply by asking for help. Instead of listening or trying to resolve issues, they come across as rude, impatient, and unwilling to assist residents. I’ve lived in several apartment communities before, and this is the first time I’ve experienced management with this kind of attitude. A leasing office should be a place where residents feel comfortable asking questions, not a place they avoid because they’re worried about how they’ll be treated. Another major issue was the move-out charges. I was charged for wall paint, and from my experience, normal wear from living in an apartment for years—such as minor marks on white walls—should not automatically be treated as damage. White walls naturally show scuffs over time, and that’s part of ordinary use. If management expects walls to remain spotless, routine repainting should be considered part of normal maintenance rather than passing those costs on to residents for everyday wear. Overall, I found the management to be unhelpful, unprofessional, and lacking the customer service that residents deserve. I sincerely hope management takes resident feedback seriously and works on treating people with more respect and fairness.

Genuinely wished that this place had better management!! They don't do anything for their residents regardless of if there's a leak or mold at the apartment. I stayed at Alight for 2 years and I am so glad to be out of that place. Yes, the rent is fairly cheaper than other apartments nearby but it’s not livable with the mold and the constant fire alarms. They also have random "check-ins" and this isn't the dorms where the RA does a monthly checkups. If you also get a room next to the trash, its absolutely horrendous with how the trash maintenance is as well.

I was just here for 2 months for the summer and it is the worse place I’ve ever lived. First of all, when I moved in my apartment was nasty and both the shower and toilet were broken. It took 5 days for them to fix the shower. My apartment had flies, roaches, and ants. It also smelled bad. The dryer was broken. My roommates have been submitting maintenance requests since March about it (5 in total!) every time it just gets marked as complete and they never come to look at it. The AC broke twice. The fire alarm once went off for 2 hours straight (it doesn’t help that they chose the worst alarm noise for it) And despite the apartment being “pet free” there is dog poop all over the hallways. I’ve stepped in some before. Management is rude and doesn’t care about you. The girl I subleased from PAID ME to live here and I see why.
