Eight Thirty Water Tower Apartments, big-rapids-mi

I just finished living here for a year and it’s pretty nice! It’s a little priceyer compared to other Big Rapids options, but I would live here again. The best is that the maintenance team is VERY quick! I’ve lived in apartments where your maintenance request just seems to never be followed up on or fixed, but Water Tower was very good about it and always had them resolved in days if not the day of. Hayden & Micayla in the office are super sweet & helpful as well! The only real issue is accessibility. In the winter the parking lots were hardly ever plowed promptly, or even well, so there were multiple times I got stuck in the parking lot and was late to where I was trying to head, etc. The parking lot corners are also very tight and poorly designed so there were so many times I almost got into head on collisions because of how fast people drive around the corners, and it’s especially bad in the winter. The buildings don’t have elevators so when you move in or out, or even just have a big grocery haul, or a 50lb bag of dogfood, bringing things up to the third floor is pretty awful.

I really enjoy living here. The office staff are very friendly and organize many fun events for the residents throughout the year. As a student, I've enjoyed that the apartments are close to campus and the free printing services in the leasing office that I've been able to utilize!

I lived here for 3 years. Apartments are nice. Parking during the school year sucks if you work late depending on what building you’re in. Everyone in the office are nice. I would give it 4-5 stars until July 1st. Alexus, the area manager, did not care about my concerns. I got a charge for $550 for damages and I never even got told there were “damages.” I emailed and she said that there was carpet damaged noted in an inspection. And when i asked why was i not told during the inspection and concerns, all I got was the same thing, that the carpet damage was noted in march and june. So you just charge people $550 without telling them and expect them to pay the same day? I had my dad call them since I didn’t have time to since I was working and I know I haven’t damaged carpet. Jared looked at my carpet and had to call maintenance because he couldn’t really find what’s wrong. Tommy came and said it was just normal wear and tear, nothing i did. Luckily, I didn’t end up having to pay it. But the other rooms carpet look just like mine. Jared was really nice and cool. Tommy was nice. The office hours are unpredictable. They say they are open until 6 but sometimes they close early. I moved out yesterday and they were supposed to be open until 4pm. I got done moving out and went to go hand in my keys at 3:45-3:50pm and they were closed. The worker walked out a couple minutes after i put them in the drop box.

Maintenance responded immediately after starting hours and quickly diagnosed the problem with my lack of air conditioning. Within 15 minutes of arrival, my apartment was filling with much needed cold AC on a hot day!

This is the best apartment I have rented from. The pricing is fair, the management is amazing, office staff absolutely amazing and there maintenance people also amazing! This has not only been the easiest and fast plus bonus points best apartment around. They are the friendliest, kindest, most understanding and efficient. Thank you to hunter, Hayden and all staff that makes this feel like a home!
