Campus Creek Cottages, big-rapids-mi

Our experience with the team at Campus Communities has been amazing. Twila took us on a tour of all 3-properities in Big Rapids and was very knowledgeable and detailed on the different options. Once our decision was made, Heather and her team were quick to respond to questions and made the leasing process seamless. They made sure our details were correct and have answered and helped with further questions as they have come up. Appreciate a well-run apartment community where you can be confident in the staff and trust future support is there when needed. Thank you!

The staff at College Creek Communities are Absolutely Amazing! They are very professional and genuine about creating a Great experience doing your search for a new home. The community is well maintained and inviting. Also the maintenance staff and snowplow service were on top of the blizzard type weather at my time of touring. I'm Excited to become a part of their community! I have shared my experience with everyone I've seen.

I hated my time here I feared leaving it because the maintenance they have is grossly incompetent on multiple occasions I’d come home from work to my door being not just unlocked (no I’m not that stupid) or flat out open because they refuse to lock the stupid door. My heat went out during the coldest storm we had in years and it took them over a month for a “priority job” there solution was to manually start up the blower motor when that didn’t work they offered me 6 space heaters but don’t worry I still have to foot that electric bill all because they didn’t want to order a new blower motor. They didn’t do any maintenance of the apartment between residents other than maybe vacuuming because 3 of my 4 sinks had such bad timescale build on the faucet they continued spraying after I shut them off. The dishwasher can barely be classified as such. And today I wake up to a call saying they closed my door because it was open( I’ve been staying at my girlfriends place) and they didn’t think to lock it I’m sorry but I know I locked it so who’s been in my apartment the only nice thing I can say is I never got roommates

I lived at Campus Creek in the cottages from 2019-2023. The absolute worst place to live. There were three shootings that happened while I lived at Campus Creek and it doesn’t end there. I did not have a working shower for literally three months and had to use my roommates. Our grass was mowed maybe twice the entire summer of 2022 (see photos). My roommates and I kept our apartment very clean yet we had mice, raccoons, and skunks on our doorstep wandering from the field behind our apartment when the grass wouldn’t get mowed. Our neighbors would throw parties until 3:00 - 4:00 am and “security” would just stand outside. The next morning, we would get a notice on our door as well as the rest of the apartments around, saying we would all be charged $50 each if the area was not cleaned up. They have had 3-4 management changes since 2019. Due to so many management changes they lost my payments. I have provided screenshots and receipts for proof of payment to countless people, all of which tell me they will figure it out and then never reach back out. I paid my entire year of rent in advance only for someone in the newest management to tell me they are unsure of where my money went. The only reason I stayed for so long was because I loved my apartment (despite having trouble getting things fixed when needed). I highly suggest looking elsewhere. Campus Creek STILL uses the video of my apartment to advertise (which I was never paid for after they said I would be). A complete joke.

This place is the worst place. My son had to rent a appartment because he was attending school at farris. 8 months ago my son transferred schools so we no longer needed that appartment. We were still in the lease so I have just been paying it. I have called and emailed many times. Literally they do not answer the phones they put a AI answering assistant in place and it gets you nowhere. Emails have been sent many times using the app and directly to their email online. I would avoid this company at all cost if you can. I have received fines for noise and my son has not been there again for the last 8 months. If I could give them a negative rating I would. If this is your only option keep looking. This is for the apartments not the cottages so I can not speak for that only the apartments but if it's the same management I would assume it's the same.
