The Legacy at Baton Rouge, baton-rouge-la

I’ve lived here for 2 years now, two different units. It’s not bad unless you have any problems with the office or maintenance. I’ve had two terrible incidents1st being my first year building 5 lost power for a week due to the ice. We were compensated for $200 after complaining, justifying by saying we had to leave the unit to survive, which is was 20 degrees with no warm water and having to leaves, all my food went bad. My roommates didn’t leave and didn’t get reimbursed. Needless to say with gas and food loss $200 didn’t do much. Next, since I was transferring units, I moved in early the next year, but they were still painting in the other rooms. While my family was sleeping in my room, the painters stole my mom’s car keys. We went to the front office which was no help, and the only person who helped was head of maintenance, who contacted his staff and they “found them in a trash bag” when they were plainly sitting on the counter no where near the trash can, or any bags for that matter. Amenities are nice but hallways are always gross and trashed. Other than those two MAJOR issues, it hasn’t been terrible but there’s definitely better student living options elsewhere!

WiFi is considered an amenity included with rent at The Legacy. WiFi has been out since 6/13. Only to get this email back from Landmark Properties that manages The Legacy. They've contracted the WiFi/internet services out STUDENT HOUSING TECHNOLOGIES. Bldg. 3 is having priority over Bldg.5... they should both be equally prioritized!!! No compensation on rent! Those that are moving into The Legacy for 2026-2027 leases beware THERE IS NO WIFI & NO TIMELINE on when it will be FIXED! They sent out a message 6/17. No other communication since! Student Services Technologies will not answer their phone! The email address provided by Landmark Properties in invalid. Maintenance Tram is AMAZING on submitted work orders ❤️ The office not so great when you call!!! You can never reach a REAL PERSON! We've had a lease since 2024. The property mgmt company needs TO DO BETTER!!!

The Legacy Apartments are so crooked!! My daughter was charged over $500 after moving out last month for damages to the floor and bed. The bed and the flooring were both perfectly fine. We have pictures to prove it. We left the apartment in way better condition than what we found it in. They just invent things to try and overcharge you for. It’s such a racket! As you can see there’s nothing wrong with the bed or floor except for some stains that were there when she moved in

This is a horrible place to live. The office workers lack professionalism and are very rude. I’ve spoken to a few them and for they are nice but Brooklyn is very rude. She’s incompetent and has an attitude problem. She acts very know it all but she doesn’t know anything. When speaking on the phone ask for anyone but Brooklyn. Stay clear!
