This is "advertised" as LSU student housing. To each their own, but unless you want your entire apartment, your clothes, and your things to smell like skunk weed all day every day, don't put your college kid here. Before they respond with some excuses, I had to contact the office multiple times to even get a response. They finally said they would check. It is debatable whether they ever did. No one saw them, no response to anyone who lived there nor myself, although they said they tried to make contact... not on any phone logs. No change to the situation. It was even making her pet sick. She had to move. If that wasn't enough, they never fixed the gross hole in the wall in the bathroom. They made some excuse about how it wasn't leaking so it was ok. It had obviously been water damaged at some point. They also attempted to move an older 40+ year old man into the same apartment as 2 age 20+ women residents. He brought his young granddaughter in to show her the apartment and the residents had to complain to the office. They did respond well and moved him but somebody was quietly living in the extra bedroom the man was to occupy for several weeks. They would hear the person and never see them and no one was on the lease as being in that room. She found her electronics were being used while she was away from the apartment. I guess this place is ok depending on your standards. She felt safe (she said). As a parent, the federal raid that went on in the unit under hers for drugs unsettled me the whole time she lived there for obvious reasons. They may not have control over that but after many months, they allowed the same residents to return. There is a better college campus for your student.

Moved in on August 20th to a DISGUSTING room. I went back to the leasing office to tell them that the room wasn’t properly cleaned, even though I had to pay almost double my rent to move in. I would think that they would at least put a little work into the presentation of the rooms, I guess that’s the least of their worries. I filled out my move in maintenance request form and have received emails that maintenance has stopped by, but yet everything is exactly the same as when I move in. I basically had to clean up what was left behind by whoever replaced the carpet in my unit. There was clutter everywhere in my bathroom and one of my drawers is missing (was told it was ordered and would be replaced soon on move in day). Not to mention the lack of security and certain office staff’s inability to handle these situations. My vehicle was broken into and several others near my building. After scanning the area I notice they have no lights, no cameras, and a gate that literally leads right into the apartment property from the back. Not to mention the electric gates at the front decide when they want to work and when they don’t. They also tow your vehicle even if you have proper parking permits and office staff could care less. Absolute joke. Luckily I don’t have any infestation issues, but I do not think I will be renewing my lease unless I see some real change. I barely want to give 1 star for the service that I’ve received in these past 3 months. Disappointing and extremely different than what they show prior to move in. I’ll also add that ironic enough my old roommate was set to move in to the exact same unit as me, but saw the quality of the room and completely terminated his lease. He sent a video of the room when he moved in and it was just as bad as what I got. So the fact that you had a second chance to go back and touch the area up and still decided to NOT to is quite trifling in my opinion. Do better.

DO NOT MOVE HERE! I have been trying for about 2 months now to get a response from them. My vents were moldy and there was mildew in the bathroom, and I was forced to move out and find another place to live. I was even hospitalized because of my severe asthma and mold allergy. So I was forced to pay two months rent for somewhere I’m not even living. Not to mention the room smelled like cigarettes when I moved in, and the shower was full of mildew, and I could not see the room without signing my lease agreement. People have loud pool parties at 3am and nothing is done (not to mention I was charged like an extra $15 a month for a pool view), my dryer had never worked and maintenance wouldn’t even check. The front gates never worked (so not a gated community), the fire alarm would go off at about 1am every night for no reason, there were multiple occasions where there were groups of people walking outside with guns. It constantly smelled like weed. The whole complex floods when it rains. Also one time I accidentally left two trash bags outside my door (was planning on taking them outside during daytime) and was charged a $300 fine, and management has entered my room with no warning and lied about the reason they had come in. Not to mention if you have issues with your roommate you have to pay a fee to move. Long story short, disgusting, smelly rooms, broken appliances, terrible management. There was a lot more wrong with this place but these are my key points.

This place is unacceptable. Our son moved into Campus Crossings on Brightside on August 20, 2025, and has faced one issue after another—roaches, a broken dishwasher, and a bathtub that looks like it hasn’t been maintained in years. Despite repeated pest control visits, the roach infestation continues. When we visited yesterday, Aug. 31, we personally saw three roaches in the kitchen and a wasp nest in the window. I have the photos and videos as proof. Even worse, the pest control technician admitted the roaches may be inside the refrigerator and stove. That is absolutely disgusting and unsafe! Parents, do not send your students here. Management is quick to collect rent but slow to provide a clean, livable, and safe apartment. For the price these apartments cost, students deserve far better than to live surrounded by pests, broken appliances, and neglect. Campus Crossings has failed to meet even the most basic standards of housing.

To Graduate students particularly those from Africa. I know you have seen the reviews and you be like I can manage, it’s cheap. Take it from someone that was once in your shoes AVOID AT ALL COST. Choose Villas, find a roommate if you must. Pros - it’s cheap - Many grad student from Africa stay here so maybe you won’t be home sick. Cons - Its dirty and not just in the environment way. The room vents are very dusty and makes keeping your apartment clean a huge deal. Roaches are a big issue. - Unsafe if you have a car. Each year there is at least one car glass breaking incident. I experienced two in the 2 years I stayed. Charges are 💯 on you. - Inconsistent maintenance routine. Sometimes they be fast, other times they be ignoring you. - If you have allergies please do not even consider as mold is a major issue especially in the vents. - Little to no regulation of pet owners. While we love pets, ensuring pet owners clean after their pets, and keep a close eye on them is critical. But since the admin here is no so organized, pet control is non existence. There are poop everywhere especially hidden in the grasses. - Zero control of residents who smoke. Roommates smoke and there is little you can do to stop this other than constantly clashing with your roommates. Even when you select a non smoking room, those preferences are only as good as their desire to make money by taking in anyone regardless of preference. You could go ahead and report but that would only be useful for a few weeks. Huge cons - They place charges on you after you move out for unimaginable reasons. For instance they would give you a room that is substandard say bad painting in the bathroom and when you move out they will charge you for that bad painting which was never your fault. How to avoid these should you choose to stay here. - Immediately you move in, ask a fellow grad student to help you inspect and document via pictures everything. There is a sign in form, fill that noting all the issues, keep a copy and send an email to them to that effect. Potential things to document- painting, window blind, rug/carpet condition, all kitchen appliances, no of chairs, holes in wall, furniture conditions. Basically do a construction inspection 😂 - When moving out do a deep clean like steam the rug and document this via video, ensure all broken items you request for a change months before move out such as window blind doesn’t matter if you broke it or not unless you documented this during move in. - On move out, gather all evidence and send to the apartment on the day of move out. All the best!
