My leasing process was good! It was a bit stressful at times, no fault of the apartment though; mostly employment verification things. Parys was a HUGE help and support throughout my entire process. My emails were answered quickly and calls were always answered as well. Literally from touring the place to getting my lease finalized! I’m very happy with my decision and excited to start living at this beautiful, historic building!

Don’t come to this apartment unless you want to be treated rudely by the leasing office manager and new front desk staff. The current leasing office manager is extremely rude. When I asked a leasing agent about different rooms that fit my needs, he said loudly from his office, “Just say you want a cheap room,” even though he was only about 5 feet away. The new front desk staff was also rude. I brought three friends into the lobby to wait for their JHU shuttle, and while a resident was talking to the front desk staff, he abruptly told my friends to sign in on the guest list. The front desk staff said nothing and let the resident handle it in a hostile way instead of intervening professionally. Later, when I briefly showed my friends the gym, literally less than one minute after we entered, the front desk staff came in and told them they could not stay in the gym and must remain in the lobby. She did not ask what we were doing and simply assumed they were using the facilities. If this is not rudeness, I don’t know what is. Red flag for JHU students: if you’re looking for an apartment that welcomes students and not just wealthy tenants, consider looking elsewhere. This experience reflects poorly on the building’s professionalism and inclusivity.

I have lived at the standard for over 6 years, and have only good things to say about this building. Everyone who works here, from the front desk to the management to the maintenance guys, is lovely and passionate about this community. Anytime there was an issue at the apartment, it was addressed promptly and fully. Rent increases were also quite reasonable and minimal. It is a beautiful historic building with excellent build quality, and I appreciated not hearing my neighbors (which is a common issue with some of the newer buildings). There are loft apartments on the 1st and 15th floors, which I highly recommend if you like high ceilings and creative spaces.

I toured The Standard yesterday, and Paris was the leasing agent who guided me through the community. She was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive throughout the entire visit. Paris took the time to understand what I was looking for and helped me identify the apartment that would best suit my needs. Her support and professionalism made the experience comfortable and enjoyable. Exceptional customer service from start to finish. Paris is a true asset to The Standard.

Kierra is AMAZING. They are so helpful and patient and sweet. I had such a wonderful tour. The apartment is also so spacious and affordable.
