The Castilian, austin-tx

EJ truly made my experience at the Castilian special. Every morning and afternoon I would see him in the dining hall and he would always say hi. Soon we were always hearing about each others day. Not only does he always do his job super well, he does it with a smile on his face and amazing attitude. I was so glad I met EJ he truly is an amazing person. I’ve also only heard fantastic things about him from others. Thank you EJ for all that you do and how impactful you have been on my time at Castilian!!!

Overall, the place is okay. Breakfast is not the best, but lunch and dinner are pretty good! They offer a variety of food during those times including dessert, so thats a plus. However, there are some bugs sometimes. I had cockroaches, crickets, ants, ladybugs, etc. Despite keeping my room pretty clean. I think its a structural thing. The place is also full of a lot of people who like to party/ yell but if you keep to yourself or dont mind people at all then you should be okay. Rolando, EJ, and Aurora are AWESOME staff though and they definitely made my experience living here SOOOO much better! They are so sweet, funny, and kind!! Hopefully you run into one of them if you stay here.

Debbie was the best tour guide ever!! Answered all of our questions and provided some great insight as a student herself. Love the Castilian so much, if I ended up at UT I would definitely live here.

My son Venkat has been residing at Castilian since Aug 2025. What makes Castilian Apartments near UT Austin a good place overall is the responsiveness and support from the management team. Ms. Madeline, the apartment manager, is truly exceptional. She is very cooperative with resident requests, responds promptly, and takes action quickly. It’s rare to find a manager who is not only efficient but also genuinely caring and approachable. Her helping nature makes a big difference in day-to-day living, and it’s clear she values residents and their concerns. I’d also like to recognize staff member Mr. Cooper, who is always helpful, polite, and professional. Whether it’s answering questions or assisting with requests, Cooper consistently provides great support. Overall, the management team makes Castilian Apartments a comfortable and well-run place to live. Highly recommend!

EJ — EJ is incredibly kind, thoughtful, and engaging. He’s intentional not only in the work he produces, but in every interaction he has with residents, making people feel genuinely seen, heard, and valued. He consistently works with efficiency and diligence, often completing projects right after requests are submitted. Thank you, EJ, for your hard work, dedication, and the care you bring to everything you do.
