Would not recommend living here. Before agreeing to take over a lease, I specifically asked whether I could do so even though I did not qualify for SMART Housing. A manager assured me that the lease could simply be converted to the normal market rate, so I relied on that information when making my decision. Because of that assurance, my roommates and I all finalized our housing plans expecting to live together. Nearly three weeks later, I was informed that what I had been told was apparently not possible and that I could no longer take over the lease because I don't qualify for SMART Housing. If I had been given accurate information from the beginning, I would have looked for other housing immediately. Instead, I lost valuable time during one of the busiest leasing periods and am now scrambling to find another place to live. What disappointed me the most was the communication. It took weeks for anyone to let me know there was an issue, despite previously being told everything would work. Better communication and accurate information from the start could have prevented this entire situation. I understand that mistakes can happen, but how a company handles those mistakes matters. Unfortunately, this experience has left me with little confidence in Skyloft's leasing process, and I would not consider living here in the future. I hope management improves its communication so future residents don't find themselves in the same situation.

I've had a great time staying here! The managers are super nice and understanding. They set up a lot of fun events for the tenants like Bingo and Egg Hunts. The only problem I've had in the unit was the temperature panel wasn't working, but we put in a request and it was fixed by the next day. Everything feels very homey and I think it's one of the best communities you can find for student housing in the area.

Skyloft truly sets the standard for off-campus student living. The building itself is beautiful, modern, and in an unbeatable location—but what really makes Skyloft exceptional is the leasing staff and management team. From day one, the leasing staff has been professional, welcoming, and incredibly responsive. They go above and beyond to make sure every question is answered and every concern is handled quickly and respectfully. You can genuinely tell they care about the residents and take pride in what they do. The move-in process was smooth, communication has always been clear, and any maintenance requests are addressed promptly. Management deserves major recognition for creating such a well-run, positive community. They maintain high standards while still being approachable and supportive. It’s rare to find a team this organized, attentive, and dedicated to making students feel at home. If you’re looking for off-campus housing in Austin with top-tier management and a staff that truly delivers, Skyloft is it.

When I first signed, it took them a full month to get my lease to me after sending out the wrong one 3 times prior. By this time, rent had gone up by $200, and there was nothing I could do since my roommates had already signed. The best they could come up with was a “we’re sorry.” I had also specifically asked to receive a window that received light and paid extra for it. Of course, when I arrived during move-in, my entire unit was completely blocked by another building. No sunlight the entire year. We had to send SIX maintenance requests when our fridge kept freezing and ruining over $500 worth of food. Only after the maintenance guys begged management to replace our fridge did Skyloft choose the cheapest and smallest fridge to replace ours. We can barely fit food among 3 of us, let alone 4. Later, I had chosen to relet my room. After confirming several times that the person taking over my lease would have the same rent price as me, they informed me it would not be possible to do so the day before move-in. Then, after that headache, they accidentally charged me for rent. It’s only taken over 3 months, at least 6 calls to the office, and 3 never-received refund checks to STILL not receive over $1400 of rent back yet. Hoping this review will provide some encouragement there. Elevators are constantly broken and most of the time they don’t care to fix them in a timely manner. Like your typical Wampus apartment, rent goes up at least $80 a year. You’re not going to get much better elsewhere, but be prepared for a year’s worth of problems if you sign here. This is only half of the issues I’ve experienced. Shoutout to the student workers and maintenance guys though (the only redeeming factors to this place). Oh and don’t trust any 5 star “luxury, top-notch apartment” review here. They’re totally fake.

Skyloft is great! The staff here are incredibly kind and helpful, maintenance comes within 1-2 days and immediately if urgent and they’re very responsive to any concerns. They give tenants lots of free items, weekly activities are hosted and you can tell they truly put in effort with their initiatives. I’ve lived here/re signed for the past 3 years and recommend this apartment to everyone!
