I have lived here for about a year now and do not recommend living here at all. At first glance, it seems like a great place to live considering the location and amenities... do not let that fool you. The maintenance is absolutely terrible and slow. I had a leak in my bathroom wall that was "fixed" 4-5 times after it continued to spill terrible smelling brown water into my room. We also had a second leak in the hallway that had to be repaired 3 times. And by repaired I mean slapping spackle on the crack and hoping it doesn't go through. The trash room is constantly overflowing and the gym ac has been broken all year. The Wi-Fi is constantly down or incredibly slow. This doesn't even scratch the surface for maintenance issues let alone how dirty the room was when we moved in. And of course, they expect a detailed deep clean before you move out or expect countless fines for things you likely didn't do. In all, this place is most definitely not worth the ridiculous price.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but The Uncommon genuinely deserves it. From day one, the property management here has been next-level. The staff is professional, responsive, and actually cares about residents—not just checking boxes. Any issue I’ve ever had was handled quickly and thoroughly, which is rare these days. The property itself is extremely well maintained. Common areas are always clean, amenities are on point, and you can tell a lot of pride goes into keeping the place looking sharp. It feels safe, welcoming, and well run—exactly what you want when choosing somewhere to live. What really sets The Uncommon apart, though, is the management. It’s obvious they’re invested in doing things the right way and creating a community, not just collecting rent. That kind of leadership makes a huge difference, and it shows everywhere on the property. If you’re on the fence about living here, don’t be. This is how an apartment complex should be managed. Highly recommend.

I have lived here my entire time in university so far. There have been consistently leaks in numerous places. The study room has leaked, the weight room had a leak, the lobby, and rooms themselves. The golf sim they showed on my tour is/was broken longer than it hasn’t while I’ve lived here. When your air conditioning goes out they’ll send somebody that’ll just change a fuse and leave and then only after that will they send an HVAC company that actually knows what they’re doing. BUT THE MAIN GRIPE, is that your rent will go up a ludicrous amount every month for no reason, adding on to the thousand you already pay that doesn’t include utilities. Nothing whatsoever has changed, in fact degraded if anything, but yet it costs significantly more. Also, the front office opens at inconsistent times. A thing that can’t really be helped but that should be noted is that it’s located next to the train tracks and road and there will be trains that pass through everyday and loud exhausts if you think that’ll bother you. The windows don’t block out any noise. If you’ve walked by the uncommon while talking to somebody else, at least on my floor, I can make out what you’re saying. Another thing regarding location is that it is a pretty easy walk to the northern part of campus. The nearest bus stop is at the Standard. Some redeeming qualities are that the front desk workers are very helpful, there’s a pool, and the utilities are just fine.
