Midtown Auburn, auburn-al

I’ve always liked the Midtown Shopping Center on Opelika Road — it’s such a convenient spot for everyday errands and quick stops around town. You can grab a bite to eat, pop into a few shops, and it’s never hard to get in and out of. It’s one of those places that just quietly makes life in Auburn a little easier. As a REALTOR® who’s in and out of this area all the time, I really notice how Midtown connects so many parts of Auburn — close to downtown, campus, and several great neighborhoods. It’s central, familiar, and one of those everyday places that helps make Auburn feel like home.

Was excited to move here for the first time… Unfortunately that soon changed. Move in was on a Wednesday but my parents and I couldn’t make it until Friday. After getting my info from the office, we found my unit, the door was wide open? Not only that, the second we stepped in, it was absolutely disgusting. It looked like someone hadn’t cleaned the place in 3 years. My family and I spent 2 days deep cleaning it, however it’s still dirty and not cleanly enough for my parents and I. What’s the point of me paying almost 1k in a security deposit, when the second I step into my new home, it looks like THAT.

We did not have a good experience with a local rental company we had appointments that day for showings. They rented the places without notifying us. We went to lunch and made a few appointment, one being Midtown and my son loved it.

Had a maintenance request sit open for over 2 months before it got resolved. It was relatively minor so I let it sit for a month before following up on it, mostly due to other obligations keeping me from doing so sooner and because the request was for replacing a broken shower door liner (the piece that makes a seal between the shower door and the frame), and it still took a month of back and forth with the leasing office (I have no direct way to contact maintenance beyond the emergency line) before it even got looked at again.The leasing manager, my ONLY point of contact, didn’t know what was going on and couldn’t, or wouldn’t, find out. They finally got someone (hired earlier that week) out to look at it the Friday before thanksgiving and he was great! He got the needed replacement parts on order right away and replaced the broken part within a reasonable time frame after the part got in. That particular maintenance worker gets a 5/5 star rating from me but the leasing office, again my only point of contact with maintenance, gets 0/5 stars. This review would have been 0/5 stars if I could make it any lower due to the unacceptable time frame with an utter lack of communication about the ridiculous delay.

This place is great. Moved our student in last week. The staff is nice, the community is very nice, the apartments are spacious.
