These apartments are geared towards UNCA students as non-dormitory housing, but you are able to rent as a non-student. The apartments are rented by room, each of which has their own bathroom (hooray!), and the rent is... How to say it? First come first serve? While you don't need to pay water or internet, and you only pay a fraction of electric (management company covers a large chunk of electric while tenants are each responsible for a portion of the rest of the amount), rent can range between $620 to $900 for the technical single room. If you renew the second the renewal period comes up, you'll be able to snag a lower rent, but if you wait you'll be forced to take a higher cost. Building 1900 also has a MASSIVE forid fly problem. These flies live in drains and require methods of removal PHYSICALLY INACCESSIBLE to tenants. These flies made me go through $80+ worth of Zevo stick pads, $60+ of Draino, and caused such a horrible mental break down I cleaned my bathroom sink pipes by hand. The issue was reported several times, but nothing was done. The flies only go away in winter because they cannot survive. Parking overall is nonexistent if you can't get home before 9pm, and by the time I left, the new management was trying to force guests and visitors $4 an hour to park in guest parking.

living here for the past two years were something i'd like to called "mas o menos" I began living here in august of 2024 but i didn't move in until late august and was still charged a full months rent. I was a little confused on why i couldn't pick whether i wanted to be upstaris or downstairs. neverthless it wasn't bad until we were being charged a 10 high floor fee, which again i understand that it's mandatory but at the same time I didn't get to choose to be upstairs, i was placed there. As far as for how much space we had i don't think we had enough for three people living there and again that all depends on how much a person brings. our smoke detectors were very sensitve just turning on the oven to heat up, or even putting things in the microwave would activate the smoke detecter. When Helena happened in septemeber we were still obligued to pay rent even though most of us didn't have it yet since helena happned on a weekend, and around that time was when the verge swirched companies and we were being told that we'd get a credit for those who had to leave after helena happned. I didn't receieve my credit until late november and i used it up to januray. then it was that our electric bill was no longer gonna be covered through the verge but duke energy and one of us had to make an account. Then it was that we had to prove for the next year's lease that we were an enroll student to still lived in the apartments and at the time i was graduating in decemebr and had planned to renew with them but when i found out about this news was when i decide not to renew. Then it turned out you no longer had to prove that you were a student and that the energy bill will go back to being covered by the verge and, when i found out about this news it was much too late for me to renew since the rates were high. i paid 820 each month which isn't bad but seeing as that your paying for just a room and even though you get your own bathroom and closet still it feels a bit pricey for just a room. the people at the front desk were nice, i will say that they teneded to gossip alot about their management which I thought was a little unprofessional. our AC stopped working and my roommates ceiling was leaking and apparently the maintance people said that their boss was on one and that hopefully he remembers to fix our AC, he didn't and we didn't have AC for two weeks. the gym was probably my favorite part of the verge, AS far as roomate issues, i didn't really have any. I will say i don't recommend living with your closest friends because then problems will come out. but i feel as though since the verge switch companises they were a little unorganized for awhile, but overall i had some good moments and bad moments. not to mention we had a power outage that we were never told what had happened after and we were without power for a few hours. during the snow storms they forgot to put salt on the road going down into the traffic lights resulting my car four others to crash and yet they took no responsiblity and didn't even check in on us. would i recommend living here, I mean if you need somewhere to live yeah, but I'd look at other places first.

My stepdaughter lives here and here is the total review she's given me and my wife. 1) These apartments are DIRTY. Nothing was cleaned or painted or redone before a new tenant moves in. 2) This apartment is CHEAP. The walls are cracked, the floors are falling apart, the ceilings are cracking and caving. No concrete in between floors so you can hear everything upstairs. Why am I paying 800 for my daughter to live in "crack house" conditions? 3) She has complained MULTIPLE times to the front office about her upstairs neighbors noise. I've physically watched glasses fall out of her cabinets from her loud upstairs neighbors. She has even sent in video proof to them. Nothing has happened. She suffers from chronic migraines and has gotten 4 ear infections from wearing earbuds constantly, my credit card can concur the vast amount of medical bills I've had to pay since August. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!! 4) Maintenance walks in whenever they want. My stepdaughter was changing while listening to music. They walked in on her and scared her half to death. And my stepdaughter is such a kind understanding person, she's done her best to put a positive spin on this and say it's "college living". But I am fed up paying for hotel rooms so she can sleep through the night. I pay too much money for this place for my daughter to constantly suffer in a place that does not care to fix anything for her. I'm paying people's salaries to sit back and twiddle their thumbs. And according to Facebook groups online, these are all issues everyone's kid is suffering through. Do better or expect people like me to start heavily spreading the word on how useless this place is absolutely everywhere I can.

Would not recommend, everything here is a money grab. The towing is crazy, people have had windshields (with the parking sticker) replaced and their cars are towed hours later, even though management has all our vehicle information. They must have some deal with the towing company. Management will say they’ll cover it if you just tell the towing company, only for them to say they never said that. People take up parking with motorcycles even when we’re all only allowed one spot. Randomly the cigarette boxes got taken away and now the stairwells are littered with cigarettes!! Now they’re introducing paid visitor parking for two days maximum when visitor parking was perfectly fine before! No one was abusing the visitor parking and it always had room, now our guests have to pay $12/day. They get you to leave a review like two weeks after you move in so of course not a lot of people have negative reviews. All this being said, the maintenance people are incredibly helpful and kind, I’ve always had great experiences with them, they’re wonderful.

any nice reviews are only because they bribe people to do so with giveaways and gift cards. DO NOT LIVE HERE. the management is absolutely horrible. mail room is only open mon-fri 10-6 so if u work full time good luck getting your packages. just now, we were informed to clear out the ONLY storage closets in the common areas for “inspection” just to find out from maintenance that they are actually locking them up (without telling us). they threatened to evict my friend because THEY messed up processing her check for rent. we got zero notice about a new roommate moving in and came home to her being here. also, they don’t care about pets at all. i have had several roommates have issues with requesting no pets and being placed with someone with pets. to top it off, rent keeps being raised. for a 3br apartment, the 3 rents combined come out to $2,500 or more. you can live somewhere much nicer and safer for that price. do not choose the verge.
