Big thanks to the new maintenance team at 848 Mitchell! My water heater started leaking badly, returning to my apartment after my evening-classes to find water all over the floor. I called right away, and they came super fast—fixed the issue on the spot, soaked up every bit of water, dried everything out, and made sure there was no damage or mold risk. Professional, efficient, and no hassle at all. Shoutout specifically to the current team (not the old ones who might've let things slide)—you guys handled it perfectly and prevented a bigger problem. Appreciate the great service—highly recommend 848 Mitchell for anyone near UTA!

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was so bad that I felt like I had to. DO NOT LIVE HERE! Problems started on move-in day. When I arrived, someone was already living in my room even though my 4 other roommates and I had leased an entire 5 bed/5 bath townhouse and were already paying rent. Management initially ignored us, and when someone finally came to help, the room was in such terrible condition that the manager put on gloves and started cleaning herself. We were promised compensation, but only I received a small credit after multiple calls and emails, with no explanation or apology. Things only got worse. After a pipe burst in the unit above mine, management sent construction workers into my apartment without notifying me. I came back from class to find workers inside, and no one could tell me how long repairs would take. The next day, I was suddenly told I had two days to relocate. They assured me I only needed to bring daily essentials and could leave the rest of my belongings behind. A week later, they called asking why my belongings were still there. They also promised to transfer my renewal lease for the next year to my new unit. The final straw was discovering they had canceled my renewal lease without any notice or explanation. Thankfully, I found another place to live, but if I hadn't, I could have been left without housing. During move-out, I also discovered both the townhouse front door and my bedroom door had been left unlocked, meaning anyone could've walked in and taken my belongings. On top of all that, the property had persistent bad smells, roaches, and wood glue seeping through the floors making it impossible to clean. Despite doing everything correctly and on time, they refused to give me things in writing and my lease ended up being cancelled. The only good thing I have to say about this place is that because of their mistake, I don't have to live here anymore and don't have to deal with them. This place is incredibly disorganized and unprofessional. Communication between staff seems to be nonexistent and residents are left dealing with the consequences. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Living here has been an absolute nightmare. I would never recommend these apartments to anyone. RUNNNN My apartment has had mold issues that have caused me serious concern. Instead of feeling safe in my own home, I’ve had to worry about what I’m breathing every day. On top of that, there was an area downstairs with what appeared to be mold that was covered with plastic and left that way for months instead of being properly addressed. Seeing that made me lose all confidence that management takes health and safety seriously. The conditions around the property are just as disappointing. The hallways constantly smell like trash, making it unpleasant every time you walk to your apartment. The pool is advertised as an amenity, yet it seems like it’s never open, so residents are paying for something they rarely, if ever, get to use. Communication and transparency from management have been extremely disappointing. As a resident, I expect maintenance issues—especially ones involving potential mold—to be handled promptly and professionally. Instead, it feels like problems are ignored or hidden rather than resolved. No one should have to pay rent while worrying about mold, dealing with foul-smelling hallways, or paying for amenities that aren’t available. This has easily been one of the worst renting experiences I’ve ever had. If you’re thinking about moving here, I strongly encourage you to do your research, but overall just RUN there are way better and cheaper apartments that will be a bang for your buck!

If I could give this apartment complex negative stars, I absolutely would. Living here has been one of the most frustrating and disgusting experiences imaginable, and I genuinely would not wish it on anyone. Where do I even begin? The constant issues with maggots, mold, roaches, filthy hallways, and murky water make this place completely unacceptable. The conditions are unsanitary, unhealthy, and honestly shocking for a place people are expected to call home. On top of that, management seems more concerned with towing and booting residents’ cars than actually addressing serious living conditions. I’m a college student working hard just trying to get by, and despite having my vehicle properly registered, my car is constantly at risk of being towed or booted. In fact, this morning at 6 a.m., right before work, I walked outside to find my car booted yet again. The stress and inconvenience this causes is unreal. One of the worst experiences happened on a Friday night when my electricity completely went out. I went to the front office expecting urgent assistance, only to be told that it “wasn’t an emergency” and that I would have to wait until Monday. No concern, no urgency, nothing. Eventually, they moved me into a temporary unit, but somehow it was even worse. The entire apartment had a horrible sewage-like smell coming from the drains that never went away during my stay there — which lasted over a week. The lack of cleanliness, maintenance, and basic care for residents is beyond unacceptable. The hallways are filthy, the units are poorly maintained, and management consistently fails to take serious issues seriously. This apartment complex is, without question, one of the worst living experiences I have ever had. Save yourself the stress, health concerns, and constant headaches. DO NOT MOVE HERE. Just wait i'll be back to add more pictures after I get my car back .

I have lived here for almost 2 years now and while I think that 848 is one of the decent options to live in compared to other student housing options in the area, but for the price it should be better. The halls always have a strange odor to them (even prior to the current construction) and the floors are always dirty, even in the elevators. Also there is so much dog poop everywhere. Half of the parking garage is VIP parking and it really limits how much parking is available, its honestly annoying because most of it is unused. The front staff are pretty nice (in my experience) and maintenance usually responds within a day or 2 depending on how busy they are and how urgent it is (from my observations). I feel like I should also mention that management of the building has been changed over 3 times in the 2 years I have lived here, do with that information what you will.
