I lived here for a year as a graduate student and greatly enjoyed it. While sound was loud when people were in the hallways, I couldn't hear noise from other peoples apartments. Packages never went missing, elevator always worked, and management was always quick to fix any problems in my apartment. That being said, the in unit washer-dryer is a combined machine, and therefore takes forever to dry and leaves a lot of lint on clothes. Additionally, I had problems with my AC unit leaking, but again, management was always quick to come fix it. Overall, however, I had a great experience living here.

I lived in the building for a year with my wife and our dog, and oh boy, I wish someone had warned me. I moved in without seeing the house or the area, but after the very first night I could already confirm that the building was a student party spot. Well, that led to some fun and some not-so-fun encounters with neighbors, but we got through all of them, and Kendric Place always took the matter seriously as they should. Dealing with the staff was hit or miss, sometimes even a bit arrogant. For example, the building’s website said there was a Zipcar in the garage, but when I asked about it, the information was simply removed from the website and I was told everything was fine - yet there was never any Zipcar. On the other hand, small repair requests went smoothly, although repair workers would let themselves in with their own keys without notice, so keep that in mind when you’re in the shower! The general upkeep and fixing things follow the familiar American “out of sight, out of mind” style. Parking is something you really need to consider before moving in - Amherst has a few public lots, but they fill up fast, and you should be prepared to rack up a few tickets every month. The area itself is nice, with an illegally short distance to big-city entertainment. I can recommend it if you wanna be last man standing at Spoke.

Very clean and modern living. Great natural lighting. Great location. However, very expensive for what it is. Essentially like dorm-life (lots of partying, entire building of undergrads) which was not good for me as a married graduate student. Also we were promised a 1-bedroom and were given essentially a studio apartment (again, not good for a couple who wanted to be able to have company over). So I give this 3 stars and leave this review to say, this place is really only good for single college students or a couple who can afford a 2-bedroom

Kendrick Place is perfectly located, rooms are spacious with nice wide hallways, great kitchens and baths and nice views. Great light from huge windows and a slider to let in fresh air. In the current virtual class environment a great place to be! My son is sharing a one bedroom which lays out well for 2 to be on zoom simultaneously. The staff were excellent at answering all of our questions and getting my son into his home away from home. Highly recommend!

Poor management that tends to be more snobby than helpful. They will intentionally delay responding to you and withhold important information just to sell these apartments and make you pay an exorbitant amount per month for what you’re getting like others have already stated. Before you sign a lease with them at any of their locations, make sure you’re definitely going to be living there for the full lease term as they do not allow subletting, nor do they offer short term leases. You can relet, but you will have to pay for your remaining lease term if you are unable to find someone to take over for you. They will claim to do their best to find a replacement tenant for you if you’re trying to relet, but there is no proof on the websites that they actually do that, and they basically leave it to you to figure it out on your own. Again, they do not “market” the apartments that are being relet, and you will most likely be stuck with paying the rent every month for an apartment until your leasing period is over, regardless of your circumstances. Only way you’d be able to get out of it is if you personally find someone to take over the remaining term, but you’re still going to have to pay a high fee to do that. They’ll try to squeeze money out of you in any way they can. Also, if you have a car be prepared to pay over $200 per month if you want parking. It’s a shame how terrible these locations are being managed considering the potential. Apart from the location and option to have a fully furnished apartment for free, it’s all smoke and mirrors. PS- Emailing management is not going to solve any of these internal issues you have.
