Living is the complex is great but the move-out process is not. Be very careful in checking your last bill. I left in mid may and the lease ends in mid July. They took the month that I was living there and forecasted my utility use into the future and tried to get me to pay it. They know I'm gone and they know the utilities are low, it's obviously a way to pocket the difference. They will also make lots of promises in helping you sell your lease which will not be followed up on.

South Duff has been my home for almost two years now and is the best apartment complex in Ames. Not only do they have great apartments and amenities but South Duff is also a very peaceful place to live. It’s right behind the Toyota dealership so you get the luxury of being in a quiet part of town but you will still be super close to any store or restaurant!! The management here has also been so sweet and willing to help no matter what situation you’re in, plus the maintenance team is speedy fast. If you’re thinking about living here, come take a tour and sign a lease. You will love living at South Duff as much as I have!!

I lived here for three years while I was at ISU from 2018-2021. Lived in the five bedroom and the three bedroom floorplans. The staff were always really helpful and always had fun events planned for the residents. For students it was not necessarily the closest apartments to campus but the rent was reasonable and we never really had any issues that required maintenance. When I lived at South duff they always had a shuttle that ran every hour to the commuter lot which was extremely convenient. However, I'm not sure if they offer that anymore. The apartments I lived in were very spacious and having the option to get them furnished was a plus. Also they are extremely pet friendly and the dog park right next door is a nice perk!

I have absolutely loved living here for the past couple of months. The environment is nice and the people I have been surrounded by have been even nicer. I love how genuine the staff our to myself and my roommate, they are always checking in and making sure that everything is going good in our apartment life and in our personal life. A very fun and supportive first apartment experience so far.

Halfway thru our first year here and there will be a second...Anytime any need has arisen the staff both office and maintenance have been, prompt, accommodating, and efficient. Having had poor renting experiences before, i find myself grateful for how easy and stress-free the staff makes it to be a resident here.
