I recently toured The Grove Apartments, and I had a great experience. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and took the time to answer all of my questions without making me feel rushed. The property was clean, well-maintained, and the amenities were impressive. Overall, the tour left a really positive impression, and I can definitely see why so many people enjoy living here. I would highly recommend checking out The Grove Apartments if you're looking for a place to live in Ames!

The Grove office building is so beautiful and has great amenities! I have hosted and attended a hand full of events there including a bridal shower, engagement party, dinner party, and a hot chocolate bar gathering! The staff at the Grove is so friendly and helpful! The units have very spacious bedrooms and living areas! The fact that each tenant gets their own walk in closet and bathroom is a game changer! The location is set at a great central spot! It is an easy drive to campus, the stadiums, and close off the highway. The pool area is also a great amenity of the Grove! It is super nice and clean! The Grove also has pop up events and giveaways that gives tenants a nice perk! Everything about the Grove is great! My friends, parents and I highly recommend!

I would advise looking elsewhere to live for your time in college. Not worth the price in rent. My time here for 2 years has not been pleasant to say the least. There are no cameras in the parking lot, my car got broken into and I had to file a police report that went no where because of the lack of cameras. Contacting management is not always promising, I have not received a quick reply. I wait a weeks at a time for issues to be resolved. Quarterly inspections and construction never get done at the time they are scheduled to be completed. The walls and ceilings are paper thin so everything can be heard through them. Parking in the back section is hazardous on your car with all the pot holes, the parking lines are faded so you cannot see them properly. I received a new roommate when my old one moved out and I did not get told when the new one was moving in, they just appeared without warning. It comes fully furnished but you have to buy a toilet paper holder and a curtain rod because those aren’t included. There is not a lot of pantry storage so buying a shelving unit would be wise. There is most likely to be holes left by the previous owner in the holes and ceiling.

Extremely poor parking lot management, looks like a meteor shower landed. Submitted a high priority maintenance request for my broken washing machine and it took them 2 months, 4 more requests and 2 phone calls to finally fix it. They enter the apartment once a month if not more. Packages will not come to the door and if it’s delivered when the office is closed it will sit outside the office for all to see. On top of that it takes multiple hours for them to process the package (write your name on it) before you get an email that they allow you to come get it. Rent isn’t too terrible but you’re paying the rest having to deal with the aforementioned issues. When open the pool is nice and the other people living here are always friendly. Having a bus stop right out front is also quite useful for going to class. Overall I would say living here was a negative experience hence leading to 2 stars

Jena, the leasing manager, was so great to work with!! My daughter had to transfer two lease terms (one from Jan to July and one from Aug to Aug) and Jena was a huge help!! Even though I called a million times and asked a million questions, she sweetly answered my calls and all my questions!! She totally explained the process so I could communicate the process to my potential lessees! And, when I found individuals to take over the lease she was quick to get them approved, get the lease signed, and communicate with me to let me know the process was complete!! She is the reason The Grove is a great place to live! The complex (The Grove at Ames) as a whole, was great! My daughter lived there for three years and whenever they had a maintenance issue they were there immediately (usually the next day). They also performed regular maintenance and always let her and her roommates know when they were coming. They also recently upgraded their living room furniture, which was a plus (brand new leather couch and chair). My daughter felt very safe. She used the fitness center daily and loved it. She also loved the pool! She would get packages quite often and the staff were always friendly when she went in the office to pick them up. They all knew my daughter and called her by name. If you are looking for a reasonable, safe, furnished, apartment with free parking, cheap utilities, an in-unit washer and dryer, a pool and fitness center near ISU, I would highly recommend The Grove!! Tell Jena I sent you!!
