Housing options include shared houses, student flats, and some purpose-built student accommodation, with affordability being moderate for the region.

Areas close to the A325 (Farnborough Road): Residential areas along the A325, which connects the town centre to the UCA campus, offer a good balance of proximity and potentially more affordable housing options. Bus services along this route are frequent.

Weydon: Located to the east of the town centre and within reasonable walking or cycling distance of the UCA campus, Weydon is a more residential area with a mix of houses that may be available for student lets. It tends to be slightly quieter than the town centre.

Short Heath: Situated to the north of the town centre, Short Heath offers more affordable housing options in a residential area, with bus services connecting it to Farnham town centre and the UCA campus.

Aldershot (for those willing to commute): Located a short bus or train ride from Farnham, Aldershot generally offers more affordable housing options due to its larger size and military history. There are direct bus routes to Farnham and a train connection.

Farnham Town Centre: Explore the charming Georgian town centre with its historic buildings, independent shops, art galleries (including the New Ashgate Gallery), cafes, and pubs.

Farnham Castle Keep: Discover the impressive remains of a 12th-century castle with panoramic views of the town and surrounding countryside.

Waverley Abbey (English Heritage): The atmospheric ruins of the first Cistercian abbey in England, located a short drive or bus ride from Farnham.

Rural Life Centre, Tilford: A fascinating open-air museum showcasing rural life in Surrey over the past 150 years, easily accessible by bus.

Alice Holt Forest: A large woodland area offering walking and cycling trails, Go Ape adventure courses, and opportunities for enjoying nature.

Frensham Ponds and Common (National Trust): Beautiful heathland and two sandy beaches around Frensham Great Pond and Little Pond, ideal for walking, swimming, and picnics.

Watts Gallery - Artists' Village (Compton): Explore the art and life of Victorian artist G.F. Watts and his wife Mary Seton Watts in their unique Arts & Crafts setting, a short drive or bus ride away.

Trains (National Rail): Farnham Railway Station is located in the town centre, approximately a 15-minute walk or a short bus ride from the UCA Farnham Campus. The station offers frequent National Rail services to London Waterloo (around an hour) and other destinations in Surrey and Hampshire. Students can significantly benefit from the 16-25 Railcard, offering a 1/3 discount on most train fares nationwide if they meet the age or full-time student criteria.

Buses: Several local bus routes serve Farnham town centre and the areas around the UCA campus. Operators include Stagecoach South and Farnham Hopper. These buses connect the campus to residential areas, the town centre, and nearby towns like Aldershot and Guildford. Students can often purchase discounted bus passes for the academic year or shorter periods. Check the websites of Stagecoach South and Farnham Hopper for specific routes and student ticket options.

Cycling and Walking: Farnham is a relatively compact and pleasant town, making walking and cycling viable options for getting around. The UCA campus is located on the edge of the town centre and is accessible by bike and foot from many residential areas. The surrounding countryside also offers scenic cycling routes. The university provides bike storage facilities.

Car: While not always the most student-friendly option, having a car can be useful for exploring the wider Surrey countryside. However, parking on and around the campus and in the town centre can be limited and sometimes expensive
