I cannot in good faith recommend this accommodation… While the negatives greatly outweigh them, let me start with some positives. The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful, making it nice and welcoming - they like to ask how you’re doing, which is always nice. The facilities are good; nice study areas and study rooms, and a decently equipped gym. Thats all I can really say for positives… The negatives: Firstly, I started out in a Luxe Studio Plus apartment, and while the room was a very generous size and it had a good layout, because that room is courtyard facing, I was continuously woken up by people in the courtyard at night. This happened all the time, at all hours of the night. I was messaging security at least twice a week asking to get people to be quieter. This all became to much for me as I was loosing sleep as a result, so I requested a room transfer. I moved to an Elite Studio (the next room up) which faced the main road, which I liked because I could see the cathedral and stuff happening from my room through a nice big window. While I enjoyed my new room, as I wasn’t woken up anywhere near as often, this ‘nice big window’ was where issues started again… For whatever reason, when they built Palamon Court, they couldn’t install windows that opened for ‘health and safety’? Despite Rhodaus Court (built later, but part of the Neo Family) having windows that open onto the main road. Because my window couldn’t open, and had no vents, unlike my previous room, my room had poor ventilation, because the ventilation it does have only seems to bring in dust and did cause me to get headaches for a period of time. However, my window not being able to open wasn’t the end of the world. Or so I thought… This was fine for winter, into spring, but as soon as it the temperatures increased outside, so did my rooms temperature, and I had no way to help cool it. During the heatwave at the end of May, my room stayed at a constant 30⁰C+ for a week and half. This meant I could barely be in there for long, I only just managed to sleep, and didn’t dare cook, as I know that would just make my room hotter. Once it cooled again, it became more manageable, although my rooms temperature didn’t drop that much… ** However, at the time of writing this (3:40am, 21/06/26) I have been forced out of MY OWN ROOM because it was 33⁰C when I went sleep at 1:00am (or should I say, tried to go to sleep..). 33⁰C!! I gave up trying to sleep and have come down to the study area where it is cooler. This is the first instance where I’ve been forced out of my room because of its temperature being unbearable, when trying to sleep.. ** I have to say, considering I pay £250+ per week, not being able to sleep, let alone be in my room because of its temperature being unbearable, is insanity. Why should I pay that much, if I’m in a room that even gets that hot, because its not like the temperature falls, it hovers around the 30 degrees mark. When I ask staff about it, they suggest buying a fan. Not sure that’s going to help, other than blowing hot air around… With this all considered, based on my experiences, I don’t think I can or could recommend Palamon Court.

not paid / for a draw, real review seen so many bad reviews and wanted to say for me they have been rlly accomodating, the girl receptionists are lovely (I don’t know why people are saying they treat people badly, never seen it or experienced it) and the security guards are too, any issue that i’ve needed to talk about are usually sorted quickly and accomodating to me Ive seen a lot of reviews about bugs and cleanliness - I have never had an issue with silverfish or earwigs in my room or anything unpleasant like that either and none in the kitchen. i will say my shower clogs regularly, once a month but maintenance/ drain gel fixes it usually and this isn’t different from any other accomodation i’ve been to. overall it’s great with great facilities and i’ve had absolutely no issue when talking to staff, paying rent, with my room or living here, the rooms are spacious bathrooms are small but quite nice for an accomodation (it is expensive accomodation though), they hold events such as free breakfast mornings and events for valentines, halloween and parties.

how is it even possible for any accommodation to be this badly infested with silverfish? i’ve made sure everything was clean, tidy, and dry before leaving for the holidays but when i came back i could immediately see four silverfish near the doorstep (there were a total of nine silverfish in my room including the toilet upon closer inspection). it’s mental that i’ve already been able to find silverfish in my room as i was moving into palamon for the first time, so it would’ve been nice to have known about the borderline unliveable conditions before i blew so much money on student accommodation for the whole year. bear in mind I’ve been upholding a much higher standard of cleanliness (since i’ve heard complaints of silverfish after booking a place here) compared to last year when I lived in rhodaus court (the adjacent building) yet i haven’t come across a single silverfish at rhodaus court for all of the previous year. unless you’re able to pay no mind to living amongst silverfish 24/7, you’re much better off spending your student accommodation money on living in rhodaus court nearby instead.

I personally wasn’t a fan. My room was on the ground floor with the window looking out onto the carpark. This meant I had cars pulling up to my window. I ordered some privacy film for my screen (which I had to pay for) as I was having to dress/undress either in the dark with the blind down or in my bathroom. Whilst I was waiting for my privacy film to arrive I had to experience sitting at my desk to do my makeup whilst making eye contact with some random man who was stood outside my window. I feel as though I should have been prewarned about my window and offered a discount/free privacy screen. No one, especially no woman, should be deprived of privacy like that.

My Experience at Palamon Court (2024–2025) I stayed at Palamon Court during the 2024–2025 academic year, and unfortunately, my overall experience was deeply disappointing. When I first arrived, I was optimistic and tried to make the most of it. I did manage to make some friends and enjoy certain aspects of student life for a brief time, which I’m grateful for. However, the issues I encountered during my stay significantly affected my well-being and left me feeling unsupported and uncomfortable. One of the most difficult aspects was the treatment I received from the reception staff. On multiple occasions, I felt judged and unwelcome—something no resident should ever experience in a place that’s meant to feel like home. There were clear inconsistencies in how I was treated compared to other students. For instance, while others parked in the car park without issue, I was shouted at—not spoken to, but shouted at—for doing the same. It was humiliating. Additionally, I experienced harassment from another resident who made extremely inappropriate and upsetting remarks toward me. When I reached out to staff for help and support, I received no follow-up, no check-in, not even a simple "Are you okay?" This lack of empathy and action made an already difficult situation much worse. On top of that, the living conditions were poor. I regularly found earwigs in my room, my shower was constantly blocked, and I frequently had issues with my toilet. I don’t share this lightly, but I believe students deserve transparency when choosing their accommodation. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Palamon Court to future residents.
