Currus Court, canterbury

I used to be very satisfied with this accommodation. I renewed my stay, lived here for two years during university, and even recommended it to a friend who also stayed here for a year. However, the way the management has handled recent issues has completely changed my opinion. The lift has been broken for around three months with no any explanation. This is unacceptable and extremely inconvenient for residents, especially those living on higher floors. In my case, two girls had to carry nine suitcases, around 200kg in total, down the stairs. I emailed to ask for help with moving my luggage out from the third floor, but received no response at all. This shows a serious lack of communication and consideration for residents’ basic needs. Reception is also often unattended, especially when parcels arrive. Residents regularly have to call Palamon and wait for someone to come, which makes the whole process unnecessarily difficult. I want to be clear that most of the staff I have interacted with have been polite and helpful. The issue is not with individual staff members, but with the overall management and system. I understand that problems can happen, but leaving a lift broken for months and ignoring residents’ emails is simply poor management. After previously being happy here, I now feel extremely disappointed and let down. The accommodation has failed to consider residents’ safety, convenience, and basic living experience.

My experience with this accommodation has been seriously affected by the lift being out of service for around three months. This is not just a small inconvenience — for residents living on higher floors, it creates a real safety and accessibility issue. When moving out, two of us had to carry nine suitcases, around 200kg in total, down the stairs. This was especially difficult because I am prone to low blood sugar and also have an old knee injury. Carrying heavy luggage repeatedly down the stairs made the situation feel unsafe, physically overwhelming, and completely unreasonable. There are also other ongoing maintenance issues. For example, the vending machines are often out of service, which adds to the feeling that basic facilities are not being properly maintained. I understand that repairs can take time, but leaving a lift broken for months without providing proper support or a clear solution is unacceptable. Residents should not be put in a position where moving out becomes a health and safety concern.

I have loved living here for two years. The building is new, fresh, clean and very modern. Staff are helpful and events are great which mean you meet people from different places. I’ll be sad to leave, but have many good memories. Highly recommend to anyone looking for student accommodation in Canterbury.

Very lovely, and homely, so you feel less lonely. Staff are so sweet and it’s the best accommodation in town, I’ve lived in multiple. Great facilities included, like a gym, cinema room, party room, and great convenience to city centre. Rooms are spacious and comfortable as well.

Great Accommodation, Great Staff, Great Amenities. Lived here for 2 years and I have only positives about currus court, perfect location to Canterbury East Station and Canterbury City Centre, plus the free gyms on site. What more can you ask for? Would Highly recommend
