The Stay Club - Kentish Town, london

I had an amazing three-month stay here. The location is fantastic, with easy access to everything I needed, and the amenities made daily life very comfortable. The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming throughout my stay—I always had great interactions with everyone I met. One of the highlights was the weekly cleaning service, which was a thoughtful and much-appreciated touch. It really made a difference in keeping everything stress-free. I would absolutely recommend this building and its location to any study abroad students. Overall, it was a truly great experience and a memorable place to live.

My daughter just arrived home from her study abroad trip to London and stayed at your facility! I’m absolutely appalled at some of the things she told me about the lack of cleanliness and comfort in her room! She has been home for about two weeks and today we noticed some bugs on some of her clothing and realized they were bed bugs! Not only are they on her clothing that she brought back in her suit case, we found some on her mattress and her bedding!!! She must have had them on her clothes in your apartment then they came home with her and now have decided to live in my home! This is so unacceptable for the money we spent for her to stay there! In the meantime I’m having an exterminator come tomorrow and most likely will be getting rid of her mattress and i threw away her nice new foam topper after seeing the bugs in there! We have been washing all her clothes in hot water and hot dryer and must have shrunk so many nice items of clothing! This is so frustrating and not to Mention how many days this is taking us to resolve the situation!!!! Your staff needs to know that this is unacceptable and you need to clean up your rooms and do high quality inspections before new students move it! So disgusting!!!!

I can’t even believe that this place has four stars. It should be much, much lower. My experience with the Stay Club has been absolutely horrible. To start, the lobby and the rest of the building are decorated very oddly, and the entire place smells awful. I had to plug my nose every time I used the staircase to the basement because it smelled so bad. Then, when you get to your room, you are met with a tiny prison cell. They put two people together in a room that is barely big enough for one. I didn’t even get a real bed. I slept on a 2-inch pad during my stay, and it was even worse than it sounds. The rooms were also not properly cleaned when we arrived, and they were honestly disgusting. On top of that, there was pretty much no ventilation in the rooms. The window barely cracked open, and there was no screen, so bugs would get into the room anytime you tried to get a little fresh air. The shower would also leak, which was super inconvenient. The staff here are completely unhelpful and rude most of the time. There were constant issues with the Wi-Fi, so it was super unreliable. They were also having problems with the fire alarms, which would go off in the middle of the night. And good luck trying to do your laundry, because the laundry machines don’t work either. If you are looking for a place to stay in London, I would stay away from the Stay Club.

This place is horrible and all the terrible reviews here are true. Staff is super rude, doing laundry is a nightmare because most dryers don't work, the room doesn't include ANYTHING, so you need to buy every single thing including hand soap, no AC (which it's normal) but there's no air flow at all since the one window only opens like 5cm and they only provide one tiny fan per room, fire alarms go off all the time in the middle of the night, the bathroom situation is just weird and poorly designed with a shared single translucent glass door for the restroom and the shower, the "bed" a just a single piece of plywood with a super thin cushion thing, and the food and coffee at the restaurant downstairs is also horrible. Also, whole place has a very weird smell

This place sucks!! Everything all the other reviews have said are absolutely true and more. My roommate and I first quickly realized what awful shape and quality this place is. Don't let its shiny outside appearance fool you. Our room had lights/light switches that don't work, to outlets with literal screws sticking out of them. Some people experienced bed bugs (we thankfully did not), but definitely check. The room was definitely NOT cleaned before we arrived either. Both me and my roommate found stains on our sheets and duvets, as well as dust all around the room. Be prepared to buy your own sheets, and might as well get a mattress topper while you're at it, because they literally give you couch cushions to sleep on. The rooms are small, to be sure. The bathroom has one door that is for both the bathroom itself and the shower, and doesn't even reach the ceiling so that the bathroom is fully enclosed, so I hope you're comfortable with your roommate. The shower drain is constantly clogged, and has no means of being able to collect hair, so girls, you might as well buzz it off before you move in. Also, there's literally a hole from the shower drain/ledge into the main part of the bathroom. So every time the shower runs the bathroom is completely flooded, leaving every mat soaked. My roommate and I have had to maneuver and strategize the best way just to simply take a shower. The laundry machines, especially the dryers, are constantly breaking or malfunctioning. There's only about 7-8 washers and 7-8 dryers for the entire building. A dryer broke whilst I was trying to dry my clothes weeks ago, and it's still not fixed. Be prepared to do your laundry at 3am. These complaints go back months before we even moved in, and these problems are still happening! All of our friends suffer the same issues. Whoever designed these rooms must have used ChatGPT, which is very disappointing considering how expensive it is.
