Chapter Islington, london

Writing this review as a visitor, not as someone who lives here. The staff were very kind and helpful (shoutout to Monét!!), the whole building and room were clean with very comfortable bed and pillows. The room I was in had a huge window that was facing the courtyard, so it wasn’t so loud. I chose this place mainly because it looked clean and safe, and it truly didn’t disappoint. I felt very relaxed and at home after exploring London each day. I ended up extending my stay for 2 more days. Would recommend to stay here.

Booked on booking for short stays. Arrived with room not cleaned. Toilet unflushed. Shit in the toilet and Trash in the room. Got another room but also not very clean with hair on the sheets. Shower is of course clogged. Elevator is broken. Then on day 3 the front desk decided to ask security to kick me out 8 in the morning because I’m not supposed to be in that room? They couldn’t communicate that I need to switch room via email or booking message beforehand and just decided to banging on my door while I was a sleep in the morning. When I asked the security why, he just yelled open the door like he think he’s the police. Very disrespectful. We know that they offer short stays because they want to save operational cost and no student wants to stay with them long term. I mean I stayed there because it’s cheap as well. But at least I’m expecting cleaniness, good communication and respect. They failed at all. Do not stay here at all cost. It’s very mismanaged, the staff are not trained properly and will not treat you with respect. Feel bad for the students living there.

It's a good place to stay unless you don't have any issues in your room. If you're not very determined, very assertive and you don't complain every day at the reception desk nothing will be fixed. You will just be informed that they will take care of the issue but then nothing happens and nobody knows anything. One extra star for great location. Also rooms have everything you need for a short stay, including basic utensils and towels.

Great stay at chapter Islington! Maame and Monét were really friendly and helped us a lot during our stay. They got us a fan for the warm weather, it was truly lovely. It is located in a calm neighbourhood, no noise complaints at all. Tube line to the centre nearby

I am very disappointed with my experience at Chapter Islington. For over two months, there has been a leaking pipe in my kitchen, causing water to drip over the cooking area and cupboards. The leak has also damaged the wall, to the point where pieces of porcelain fell off, which is both unsafe and unacceptable. I reported the issue three times during the first month, but no one followed up or fixed the problem. In the second month, someone came only to repair the wall, without fixing the leaking pipe, which makes no sense. As expected, the problem was never resolved. Today, the leak started again, much worse than before, with water now spreading onto the floor. This shows a serious lack of proper maintenance and communication from staff. For accommodation at this price, I expected basic safety, hygiene, and timely repairs, which have clearly not been met. I am attaching photos and videos to show the ongoing issue.
