My experience at my current accommodation is really good. The staff are kind and helpful, they are able to answer my questions and solve my problems. The security here is also top-notch. He would look after the accommodation after the reception team has left. He would do walkabouts from time to time throughout the night, which I felt really safe living here. The common areas are also really good. The study area is quiet and have all the equipments, so you can focused on your study materials. They also have board games, snooker and few large monitors with comfortable sofas for you to sit on, which you can enjoy movies or YouTube with your friends.

Capitol students has well maintained and up to date facilities. Rooms are in good conditons, if there are any problems its easy to file an issues through the accoms portal and within a few days the issue will be resolved. Staff are very welcoming and if you have any problems they will try their best to help you. You dont need to worry about missing parcels as it will be collected by the staff at reception, they will then send yoj an email that you have to present to collect it so the system is very safe

Great stay at Capitol Students Gorgie Accommodation. Spacious rooms, friendly staff, and a convenient location, close to Heriot-Watt University with a bus stop right outside. Plus, several convenient grocery stores and eateries nearby. Truly exceeded expectations.

My boyfriend has stayed here since September and the bin storage outside is absolutely atrocious. Every single night I have been here I have seen countless huge rats running back and forth through the bin storage and outside the flats. I imagine this is due to the constantly over flowing bins that clearly do not get emptied enough. Although my boyfriend does not mind as he says this is ‘normal’ for Edinburgh, I find this very disgusting as nothing seems to be getting done about this.

I have never left a review before, but this accommodation has changed my mind. I would like to save somebody the pain. It is, without exaggeration, the most poorly managed “business” I have ever encountered. My year-long stay was nothing short of appalling. The kitchen facilities remained in a filthy state for the entire year, with no consequences for residents who showed no regard for basic hygiene, with inspections proving pointless. To make matters worse, my £150 deposit has now been withheld for over nine weeks (and counting), with certain staff members showing no accountability or urgency in resolving the matter. I refund of my money would still not justify a 2 star review. During this time, I have received 16 separate emails requesting that I complete a rent return form — a form I submitted in full over nine weeks ago. This level of administrative incompetence is staggering and only adds to the frustration. While a few staff members were genuinely helpful and friendly, others demonstrated a shocking lack of basic human competence, making any attempt to resolve issues unnecessarily difficult and rude. Their advertised cleanliness “statistics” and so on are misleading, as residents are incentivised with prizes to leave reviews. While the room itself was in good condition, noise insulation is virtually nonexistent — you can hear every movement from your neighbours. On top of that, frequent fire alarms, sometimes blaring for up to 30 minutes when full time day staff were absent, made the living experience miserable. Marketed as “premium student accommodation in Gorgie,” the reality is a substandard accommodation in Slateford — and it’s safe to say the quality certainly does not reflect the price. Save your money people. 👍
