My son checked in yesterday, after a whole different experience with another student accommodation in Coventry for my daughter on the same day. All I can say is the warm welcome and organisation was miles better in Canvas, not many helpers yet very organised. Everyone we got in contact with was great and genuinely helpful. I hope my son will have the greatest experience there.

This student accommodation is one of the best in Birmingham. Rooms are spacious and affordable. Staff is amazing especially Anish as he is always ready to help and assist with any issues.

Accommodation was good. Staff was helpful till you had a contract but afterwards they were not cooperative. Also they lost my parcel and didn't give a proper reason for that. It was a small parcel so it's alright but what if it would have been a valuable thing?

Given it's the time of year when students are beginning to look for accommodation for next year I thought this would be timely. My daughter entered the accommodation in September 2025. Her room was clean, tidy and well presented. However, the kitchen was an absolute disgrace. One of the freezers had been left ajar for a significant amount of time. It was frozen solid. The solution was to switch it off and sporadically mop up the water from the kitchen floor - a significant hazard. Silicon around the kitchen worktops was absent, shelves broken dust was all over the worktops, inside the cupboards and over the chairs. It was partially cleaned. Later in the year, and the cleanliness of other users is questioned here, mice were present. Traps were placed, but access holes were not fixed or filled. My daughter has since moved room, but the administration side has been poor. Payments not transferred to the new room despite assurances and a debt collection email sent. If you intend to stay here try and have a look around before. Today she reports that a new heater has been placed into her room. The door was left unlocked by the works staff. I hope this is just one bad experience out of many positive, but it has never filled me with confidence. If I was looking again, I wouldn't choose here. Update July 31st. Daughter moved out 4 weeks ago. Everything paid for. Today receive an outstanding balance of 57p. How? I previously said I wouldn't choose here I would now say avoid.

It is definitely the worst place to stay in Birmingham. You can‘t even lock your door if you‘re in the room, so theoretically everytime a staff can enter your room - which happened to me multiple times - especially as a hijabi, that was traumatizing. As i arrived, my room was completely dirty, it was definitely not cleaned beforehand. Do not trust the 5 star reviews - students get goodies if they give good reviews on Google. This place should be shut down.
