Le Cordon Bleu Accommodation

Le Cordon Bleu began in Paris in 1895 and opened its London school in 1933. The current campus occupies 15 Bloomsbury Square, close to Holborn, Russell Square, Covent Garden and the British Museum. Holborn Underground station takes about five minutes to reach on foot.

The London school teaches cuisine, pâtisserie, boulangerie, culinary management, wine, gastronomy, nutrition and hospitality subjects. Its best-known programme, the Grand Diplôme, combines cuisine and pâtisserie over nine months. Longer pathways add culinary management, pastry innovation or an internship, while individual certificates can last one term.

A full Grand Diplôme week involves approximately 32 to 39 hours at school. Timetables can include classes at 8 am, 11:30 am, 3 pm and 6:30 pm. The schedule changes from one term to another, so a property should support early departures and evening returns.

The school provides professional kitchens, individual workstations, bakery equipment, demonstration theatres, a wine-tasting room, a culinary library, study areas and an on-site café. Course fees for several diploma programmes include ingredients, uniforms, a knife kit and learning materials. Students generally need to purchase suitable non-slip shoes and weighing scales separately.

Le Cordon Bleu does not operate residential halls of its own. Each learner arranges a room independently, although the school publishes housing guidance and information about accommodation providers. This makes the contract behind Le Cordon Bleu London student accommodation particularly important. Course start dates do not always match the September-to-June pattern used by conventional universities.

Le Cordon Bleu does not follow the social structure of a large residential university. Most friendships develop through practical groups, demonstrations, assessments and the shared pressure of learning professional techniques.

The school welcomes people from more than 60 nationalities each year. This international mix brings different culinary traditions into daily conversations and practical sessions.

Bloomsbury provides Russell Square, the British Museum, independent cafés and bookshops near the school. Covent Garden and Soho add restaurants, theatres and specialist food businesses within walking distance.

Borough Market, Chinatown, Camden Market and local bakeries can support culinary curiosity, though frequent restaurant visits will quickly increase the weekly budget. A market visit does not need to end with an expensive meal to provide useful reference.

Le Cordon Bleu’s on-site café, culinary library and student spaces cover quieter time between sessions. The rooftop garden also gives learners somewhere to step away from the practical kitchens.

Register with a local GP after settling into the room. International learners should confirm their healthcare access according to visa type and course duration.

Bloomsbury and Holborn

Bloomsbury gives Le Cordon Bleu its simplest weekday routine. Bloomsbury Square, Russell Square, Southampton Row and Holborn all fall within a short walk of the school.

Scape Bloomsbury, Bloomsbury Janet Poole House and Grosvenor House appear among the nearest private residences. The area also provides supermarkets, pharmacies, cafés, libraries and quiet garden squares without requiring a Tube journey.

The rent reflects the Zone 1 address. Current private listings close to the school start near £397 for selected rooms at Janet Poole House, while premium studios can exceed £650 per week. A 51-week contract at £650 reaches £33,150 before food or laundry.

Bloomsbury makes the strongest case for a demanding course with several early practicals each week. Check room size and kitchen access carefully. A central postcode has limited value when the bedroom lacks storage or the shared kitchen cannot cope with the number of residents.

Covent Garden

Covent Garden places restaurants, theatres, specialist food shops and the West End within walking distance. Grosvenor House occupies Drury Lane, about a third of a mile from Le Cordon Bleu on the current property page.

The residence offers self-contained studios and apartments. Its current entry price stands at £650 per week for a 51-week Premium Accessible Studio. Bills and Wi-Fi form part of the rent, and residents have access to study rooms, a gym, cinema space and communal facilities.

This neighbourhood suits a budget built around privacy and a very short route. It makes less sense for someone who needs to preserve money for daily expenses or plans to spend long periods outside London during the course.

King’s Cross and St Pancras

King’s Cross gives Bloomsbury a short walk, bus journey or one-stop Piccadilly line connection. The complete route from many properties takes 15 to 25 minutes.

The neighbourhood has supermarkets, restaurants, Granary Square, Coal Drops Yard and major railway services nearby. It also works well for international and UK travel because King’s Cross, St Pancras and Euston remain close.

Scape King’s Cross currently starts at around £679 per week for available studio categories. Chapter King’s Cross lists private rooms, shared rooms and studios from approximately £372 to £374, depending on the live room list. Depot Point begins at £460.

King’s Cross deserves attention when the tenancy dates fit the course. Some properties list short stays alongside 44- and 51-week contracts, which can help with certificate or diploma intakes outside September.

Clerkenwell and Farringdon

Clerkenwell lies east of Bloomsbury and gives the school a realistic walk, bicycle trip or short bus ride. The neighbourhood contains restaurants, design businesses, Smithfield Market and quick access to Farringdon station.

Romano Court currently appears around 0.9 miles from Le Cordon Bleu and starts at £240 per week for a private room. This is one of the lowest current prices among the closest properties.

A private room here can save more than £150 each week against several Bloomsbury alternatives. The difference exceeds £7,500 over a 51-week tenancy.

Check the bathroom arrangement, kitchen capacity and exact contract. The lower rent may involve shared facilities, which should be compared with an en-suite room rather than a studio.

Camden and Mornington Crescent

Camden gives the school a direct bus or Northern line route. A room near Mornington Crescent can reach Bloomsbury without a difficult interchange.

The area has large supermarkets, food markets, cafés, music venues and canal paths. It feels busier than residential Bloomsbury, particularly near Camden High Street.

Camden works well for a person who wants central access without paying for a Bloomsbury studio. The journey becomes less attractive when the property lies closer to Kentish Town or Chalk Farm and requires another walk before the train.

Waterloo and the South Bank

Waterloo provides a central address south of the Thames. Direct buses cross Waterloo Bridge and reach Holborn or Southampton Row without a Tube change.

The area gives access to Lower Marsh, Waterloo station, the South Bank, theatres and food markets. It can also support part-time work in hospitality because central restaurants and hotels remain nearby.

Current London listings include private rooms and studios around Waterloo, although live prices now vary considerably by property and contract. Compare the full journey with Clerkenwell before assuming the south-of-river address offers better value.

Rush-hour traffic can change a short bus trip into a longer one. Save a second route through Waterloo or Embankment for important practical sessions.

Islington and Angel

Angel and southern Islington place Upper Street, supermarkets, restaurants and cafés near the front door. Buses travel towards Bloomsbury, while the Northern line connects Angel with King’s Cross and Euston.

This area gives culinary learners access to a strong local restaurant district without keeping them in the busiest part of central London.

The route works best from streets near Angel or Pentonville Road. An address farther north can add another bus or a substantial station walk.

Chapter Islington and Student Living Heights provide managed private options in this part of London. Current prices commonly exceed those at Romano Court, so the room quality and tenancy need to earn the difference.

Old Street and Hoxton

Old Street and Hoxton offer a more active East London address with restaurants, independent food businesses and evening venues close by.

The school journey usually needs a bus towards Holborn or a rail connection with a walk at the end. Chapter Old Street and Flora Building provide private-room and studio options.

This district makes sense for part-time work or regular commitments in Shoreditch. A programme with six early sessions each week gives the longer route more weight.

Elephant and Castle

Elephant and Castle can lower the rent while retaining a direct bus or Northern Line connection towards central London.

Private halls in this area often offer en-suite rooms and studios at prices below premium Bloomsbury properties. The route may take 25 to 35 minutes once station walks enter the calculation.

A shorter academic contract can make Elephant and Castle especially useful for certificate students. Confirm that the residence accepts your specific course and study period before booking.

The cheapest current room attached to the Le Cordon Bleu property page starts at £228 per week, but that headline covers more than 100 London properties. The closest visible options begin at different prices according to room format and availability.

Private Room with a Shared Bathroom

This format provides one lockable bedroom. Residents share the bathroom, kitchen and, in some properties, a lounge.

It usually carries the lowest price for a private bedroom. Romano Court and several conventional shared flats follow this arrangement.

Ask how many people use each bathroom. A private bedroom in a four-person flat works differently from one on a corridor shared by twelve residents.

En-suite Room

An en-suite gives one person a bedroom and private bathroom. The kitchen remains communal.

This format offers more privacy than a shared-bathroom room without charging the full studio premium. Janet Poole House, Depot Point, Elizabeth Croll House and many large student residences include en-suite categories.

Kitchen capacity matters for culinary learners. A household of eight people preparing dinner at the same time needs enough ovens, fridge space and preparation surfaces.

Twin Room

A twin room places two beds and study areas inside one bedroom. The residents may share an attached bathroom or use communal facilities elsewhere.

Twin categories reduce the weekly rent in some central properties. Scape Bloomsbury and Chapter King’s Cross include shared-room options.

Confirm that the price applies to each resident. A room advertised at £350 normally means £350 per person, not £350 divided between two people.

A twin room can feel crowded when both occupants bring uniforms, suitcases, cookware and personal equipment. Review the measurements before choosing it solely for the Zone 1 address.

Studio

A studio includes a private bathroom and kitchenette in one self-contained room.

Grosvenor House, Scape Bloomsbury, Scape King’s Cross and several King’s Cross residences focus heavily on studios. Current prices near Bloomsbury start above £600 at some premium buildings.

The kitchen deserves close attention. A small fridge and two hob rings may support basic meals, but culinary learners often have stronger cooking habits and more equipment than the average resident.

A studio gives full control over cleanliness and noise. It can also feel isolated during an intense course, especially for someone new to London.

Private Room in a Shared Apartment

A private room in a managed apartment combines individual bedroom space with a shared kitchen and lounge.

This setup often provides the best balance within Le Cordon Bleu student accommodation. It gives you people to speak with at home without requiring a shared bedroom.

Check the flat size and cleaning arrangement. Some providers clean communal areas; others leave every shared responsibility to the tenants.

Shared Flat or House

A conventional shared flat can reduce the rent in Camden, Islington, Clerkenwell, Elephant and Castle or outer London.

Le cordon bleu housing in the private market usually excludes at least some utility bills. The tenants may also need to arrange broadband and handle communication with the landlord.

Review the deposit protection, guarantor rules, inventory and repair process. Do not transfer rent or a deposit before verifying the property and receiving a written agreement. Le Cordon Bleu’s own accommodation advice warns against sending money for a property that has not been viewed or properly confirmed.

Serviced Apartment

A serviced apartment can work for a short certificate, late arrival or course that begins outside the main student booking cycle.

These properties may include utilities, cleaning and flexible dates, but the weekly cost usually exceeds a standard house share.

Use a serviced apartment as a temporary base when necessary. A long booking needs a direct comparison with student residences and private studios.

Romano Court

Romano Court currently gives the closest lower-priced option, at around 0.9 miles from the school and £240 per week.

The property offers private rooms and includes on-site staff, security and concierge support. The route to Bloomsbury can be completed by bus, bicycle or a longer walk.

A 51-week agreement at £240 costs £12,240. That total falls well below central studios, although the shared facilities and room condition require checking.

Chapter King’s Cross

Chapter King’s Cross occupies Pentonville Road, approximately five minutes from King’s Cross St Pancras station.

The current page lists shared rooms, private rooms and studios from around £372 per week. Contract options include shorter stays as well as 44- and 51-week tenancies. Bills form part of the rent.

The property suits a person who values transport, social facilities and a manageable college route. Compare the private-room and shared-room categories carefully because the starting price may not apply to the format you expect.

Bloomsbury Janet Poole House

Janet Poole House gives the school a short walk from a Bloomsbury address.

The residence offers private rooms and studios, along with security, shared facilities and outdoor space. Current prices vary between the main accommodation page and the individual listing, with entry figures near £397 to £421.

Request a live quote for your exact dates. A certificate beginning in spring may have a different price from a standard September contract.

Depot Point

Depot Point occupies a King’s Cross address and currently begins at £460 per week.

Available formats include private rooms and studios. The property has communal areas, a roof terrace, laundry facilities and controlled entry.

The full rent reaches £23,460 under a 51-week contract. A shorter course needs a shorter tenancy or a clear plan for the remaining months.

Elizabeth Croll House

Elizabeth Croll House lies less than a mile from the school on the current university page.

It offers private rooms and studios, with bills, security and maintenance among the listed features. Current entry prices appear near £421, although particular room categories may cost more.

The property works well for Bloomsbury, King’s Cross and several central stations. Verify the bathroom and kitchen arrangements before comparing it with a self-contained studio.

Scape Bloomsbury

Scape Bloomsbury occupies Woburn Place near Russell Square.

The residence includes shared rooms, private rooms and studios. Current available prices begin around £691 per week, with 12-, 34- and 51-week contracts displayed. Bills, Wi-Fi and contents insurance form part of the payment.

Its location removes most transport from the course week. The rent places it firmly in the premium category.

Scape King’s Cross

Scape King’s Cross currently focuses on self-contained studios from around £679 per week.

The King’s Cross address gives fast access to Bloomsbury and major railway stations. Residents receive private cooking facilities, a bathroom and building amenities.

The room needs to deliver more than proximity. At £679 over 51 weeks, the rent reaches £34,629.

Grosvenor House

Grosvenor House has the shortest displayed distance, approximately 0.33 miles from the school.

Every room category provides a private kitchen and bathroom. Current prices begin at £650, followed by several studios between £685 and £719. Bills, Wi-Fi and building facilities form part of the rent.

The 51-week Premium Accessible Studio costs £33,150. The same contract for a Classic Studio reaches £34,935.

This residence suits someone who places a self-contained room and a short walk above price. It does not represent the strongest value for a nine-month course without a plan for the unused tenancy weeks.

Affordable central London accommodation rarely means a cheap studio. The most workable lower-cost options usually involve a private room, shared bathroom, twin room or a residence farther from Bloomsbury.

Higher central rent

Romano Court gives the clearest lower-cost option within approximately one mile. A property advertised at £228 elsewhere in London may require a long daily commute and a Zone 1–3 travel budget.

Course length can produce a bigger saving than location. A 34-week contract at £400 costs £13,600. A 51-week room at £300 reaches £15,300. The more expensive weekly rate saves £1,700 because the agreement ends earlier.

Partially occupied months create no value unless the provider allows reassignment or early release. Read the cancellation section before relying on that possibility.

Holborn Underground Station

Holborn provides Central and Piccadilly line services and remains the closest Underground station.

The official walking route takes approximately five minutes. Leave the station, follow High Holborn towards Southampton Place, then continue towards Bloomsbury Square.

The Piccadilly line gives direct access from King’s Cross and Heathrow. The Central line connects Holborn with Stratford, Shepherd’s Bush, Ealing and other parts of London.

Russell Square

Russell Square also uses the Piccadilly line. It can work better for properties around Woburn Place, Euston or the northern part of Bloomsbury.

The walk to the school takes longer than the route from Holborn but avoids a change for several King’s Cross and north London journeys.

Tottenham Court Road

Tottenham Court Road provides Central and Elizabeth line services. It works well for accommodation west or east of central London.

The station leaves a walk through Holborn or Bloomsbury. Account for that final section before choosing a property based solely on the Elizabeth line.

Buses

Southampton Row, High Holborn, Kingsway and New Oxford Street carry numerous bus services.

Waterloo, King’s Cross, Camden, Islington and Old Street all have practical bus routes towards the school. A direct bus may work better than the Tube when carrying bags or travelling outside the busiest period.

Traffic around Holborn can slow the final part of the journey. Save a rail alternative for assessment days.

Walking

Bloomsbury, Covent Garden, Clerkenwell and southern King’s Cross all place the school within a realistic walk.

A route that feels comfortable at midday may feel different before an 8 am class or after an evening session. Check lighting, open businesses and the property entrance during the hours you expect to travel.

Cycling

Bloomsbury has cycle lanes and hire-bike docking points near major streets and squares.

Cycling can reduce the journey from Camden, King’s Cross, Clerkenwell, Waterloo and Islington. Secure storage at the residence should form part of the property check.

A knife kit, uniform and course materials need safe transport. Use a suitable bag and avoid carrying equipment loosely.

Student Oyster Discounts

Eligible learners with an 18+ Student Oyster photocard receive 30% off 7-day, monthly and longer Bus & Tram Pass season tickets. The discount does not reduce every pay-as-you-go fare by 30%.

Course type and duration can affect eligibility, so confirm the position before including the discount in an annual budget.

Rail and Airport Travel

King’s Cross, St Pancras and Euston lie within walking or short public-transport distance of Bloomsbury.

St Pancras handles Eurostar and Thameslink services. Euston provides trains towards Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool and Scotland. King’s Cross serves routes towards northern England and Scotland.

Heathrow has a direct Piccadilly line connection from Holborn. Gatwick and Luton connect through Thameslink at St Pancras, while Stansted Express services leave from Liverpool Street.

Early flights need a separate timetable check. Overnight transport or a taxi can alter the cost of a cheap departure.
