Except for the location, the price doesn't justify the accomodation. The rooms are bigger and spacious (studio). The maintenance team responds on time and the staff is quite nice. The best part is that in case one gets locked out, no fine has to be paid. If having a room closer to the city centre, with subway below your apartment and Lebanese & Chinese restaurants opposite to your building is what your looking for than this is the place for you. But if your a person who likes to chill in the lounge and workout in the gym then there are better options like newcastle1. Overall,good accomodation for pg students who do not like much noise or too much presence of people.

Overall a nice place to live but poor value for money and a few flaws. I have lived here for almost a full academic year now and have enjoyed my stay, but a few things have also led me to become a little disappointed with my flat. Positives: - Very quiet, I would barely believe that my neighbours even existed and the windows are very well insulated. - Easy, bills are included with rent which is only charged a few months of the year right after student loans arrive. - Staff, very helpful staff with maintenance that are happy to help and always smiling. - Location, you are directly in the heart of Newcastle and I will miss the convenience next year. - WiFi, even the free WiFi is fast enough to stream 1080p videos and online game with no trouble, however I lived here for a few months believing otherwise as my router was damaged, so if speeds seem outrageously slow call support. Negatives: - Poor value for money, living just a little further out you could save literally thousands of pounds a year which is something I will definitely be doing next year - Circuit Laundry, probably the bane of living here, laundry is so expensive (£4.50 a wash on the cheapest wash/dry cycle that doesn't always guarantee clothes are even clean and dry, plus the cost of detergent), plus a poor customer service and a terrible track record of broken machines and a network that can take well over 24 hours to repair, with only two washers and two dryers for the whole building. I would seriously reconsider living here just for this, the company is a nightmare. - Once my power went out at 8pm and I sat in darkness for two hours before re-calling the maintenance crew to realise they hadn't even sent anyone out or logged it. It was a breaker switch that took (literally) 5 seconds to flick up. - Paint peeling and black mold on ceilings as well as window frames lifting, the building is very susceptible to damp and my room will need a good fix before the next tenant moves in, which may just be papering over the cracks, as I find it hard to believe that all of this damage has occurred in seven months. The damp doesn't bother me, and they have offered to fix it, but I would rather not have them in my room the whole day and this is just a warning to anyone who may be more concerned / have breathing problems. - The heater only stays on for about twenty minutes before you have to manually turn it back on again, so the room wildly varies between being a sauna and a freezer, and you always wake up cold. Invest in a portable heater from Wilko (~£15) before moving in to have a reliable heat source. - My room only had two stoves which can be a pain to cook with, but by far the worst thing about the kitchen is the oven. It's a microwave oven combination which is a great microwave, but I have given up trying to use it as an oven. Chips meant to take about 25 minutes regularly take around 50 minutes to an hour, and meat physically cannot be cooked up to temperature. Stoves take a while to heat up but are good at what they do. - Office hours are very scarce, recently being reduced to around six hours a day on weekdays and not open at all on weekends, which is a nightmare if something like a light goes out on a Saturday, as you aren't allowed to change the bulbs. - No dishwasher, to be expected as a student, but for the extortionate rent I pay I would maybe have liked one. - Curtains don't fit my window perfectly so I can often be awoken to a bright sliver of light which happens to land directly on my face through the curtain and frame, petty to read about online but quite annoying at 8am on a Sunday after a heavy night. Overall this review seems mostly negative, however it is a lot easier to point out flaws than positives and I have enjoyed living here aside from some inconveniences. My final verdict is that I would recommend that you look around thoroughly for somewhere which can provide what Magnet Court has for less, or something better for the same price, but if you have found yourself here you will definitely still enjoy the next year.

It's far too expensive for the service they provide. The walls are paper-thin; you can hear everything. The reception desk is open almost all day, but they're often not in the office, and even if you have packages delivered or need their help, they're not where they should be. They respond fairly quickly in case of lost keys, excessive noise, or any damage. The way the apartments are laid out doesn't encourage cohabitation; it feels like a hotel where everyone is isolated in their own room.
