We stayed at this hotel from 12th to 25th August 2026 and had a really lovely experience. The hotel is very cosy and welcoming, and our room, although not very large, was comfortable and had everything we needed. Having a small kitchen was especially convenient - perfect for preparing a quick snack or keeping food and drinks in the fridge. The location is excellent. The Underground is only about a 5-minute walk away, with very easy and direct connections to central London. The main railway stations for trips to places such as Oxford, Edinburgh and other destinations can also be reached within around 30 minutes. The Tower of London and Tower Bridge are within walking distance, about 15 minutes away. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Whenever we had a question or needed advice, they were always happy to help. There are also plenty of cafés, restaurants and shops nearby, which makes the location even more convenient. We really enjoyed our stay and felt very comfortable here. A great choice for a longer stay in London, and we would happily stay here again. Highly recommended!

The only positive thing about this accommodation is the ground staff, who have always been friendly and helpful. When Carlos Paya was the manager, Chapters Aldgate genuinely felt like a home. There was a welcoming atmosphere, residents were treated with respect, and living here was enjoyable. Since the new manager took over, that feeling has completely disappeared. Instead of creating a comfortable environment for residents, management has become unnecessarily strict. The accommodation now feels overregulated, with rules being enforced in a way that makes it feel more like living under constant supervision than living at home. Closing the courtyards at 8 pm and the overall approach to residents have had a huge negative impact on the experience. Many of us have lived here for over two or three years, so we’ve experienced both management styles firsthand. The difference is impossible to ignore, and unfortunately it’s for the worse. I’ve already decided not to renew my contract, and several friends have made the same decision. It’s disappointing because this used to be a place I would happily recommend. On top of that, there’s a major construction project next to the building, meaning constant noise and dust that is expected to continue for another 1 to 2 years. If you’re looking for a peaceful place to live or study, this is something you should seriously consider before signing a contract. I wouldn’t have written this review if I didn’t genuinely feel the quality of living had declined so significantly. Chapters Aldgate has the potential to be a great accommodation again, but that will require management to start listening to residents and focus on making this feel like a home instead of simply enforcing rules. (please change the manager and we will think about living here) this isn’t a home anymore it’s her (the manager’s) yard of dictatorship

We stayed here for 2 months and, unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed with our experience. From the very first day we arrived, we constantly had different problems and received very little support from the staff when we tried to get them resolved. The first issue we had was with the window in our room, which could not be properly closed. We were told that it had already been like this for about a month, and we were promised a room change. However, we were given no update for almost a month. Then, suddenly, we were told that we had to leave our current room within just a few days. The lack of communication and consideration throughout this process was extremely frustrating. We were especially disappointed with the female manager at the reception. Whenever we tried to raise an issue, she did not seem interested in finding a solution. Her tone and attitude were extremely rude and unprofessional, and we never felt that she genuinely wanted to help. Throughout our stay, we experienced problems almost every single day. Instead of making our stay easier, the staff often made things more stressful. Even when we asked for basic assistance, we were usually told that they could not help us or that certain things were not available. For example, when we requested some basic items for our room, we were simply told that they could not provide them. However, another friend of ours who checked in during the same period was given exactly the same items. It was very frustrating to see such inconsistent treatment between guests. On top of that, we were also disappointed with the overall cleanliness, communication and quality of service. For guests staying for a longer period, we expected at least a basic level of care and professionalism, but unfortunately, we never felt valued as guests. After paying for a 2-month stay, we expected much better service and, most importantly, a more professional and solution-oriented approach when problems occurred. Instead, the entire experience was stressful and extremely disappointing. During our last week, staff entered our room on two separate mornings without knocking and then left. We were inside the room at the time, so having people enter without knocking made us feel extremely uncomfortable and uneasy. We went to reception to ask why this had happened. Instead of receiving an apology or a proper explanation, the female manager at reception simply told us, “These are the rules here,” and then started arguing with us. It is honestly unbelievable that a manager would argue with a guest in a situation like this. Of course, a hotel or accommodation can have its own procedures and policies. However, when a guest raises a legitimate concern about someone entering their occupied room without knocking, the appropriate response should not be to argue with them. At the very least, the situation should be explained, the guest’s discomfort should be acknowledged, and the issue should be handled in a professional and respectful manner. Honestly, we found it very difficult to understand how someone with this attitude can be working in a management position. There seems to be a serious lack of understanding when it comes to how to communicate with guests and how to handle a guest who has a legitimate complaint. For someone in a management position, arguing with a guest instead of listening to their concern and trying to resolve the situation is simply not professional. I would definitely not recommend staying here, especially for anyone considering a long-term stay.

Nice and clean apartment. The cold water was not cold enough but when we mentioned it at the reception they said they will look I to it. It could use an AC but they had fans at least. Overall it was a nice stay!

Perfect place for a pair of olders to stay. No stairs to climb(a lift). Staff fabulous. Free air show . Watching the planes passing overhead. Handy for looking at old buildings. The apartment we had was everything we needed. Again a big thank you
