The accommodation at 42 Disraeli road, Newham London is close to the Stratford station, cleanliness is okay, but you get the strong smell of cigarettes which is annoying, the bathroom is clean but when you use it the water drain out very slowly resulting in clogging and the water fills up to the ankle when you shower. The towel and the bedsheet does not smell fresh. The worse is that when you write the authentic comments of the true state of the accommodation, I got for two nights, they block me from further use of the property instead of acting on the complaint. I hope the team has a sense to know what is customer service mean. Having said that, among the ten rooms, if you are lucky you may have get a good room otherwise, Good luck.

The bathroom door opened halfway because of the bed. I had to enter on one side and flatten my stomach. Even if I was super skinny, you can't enter the bathroom except on one side. The shower door, too, opens halfway because of the sink. The shower only worked with hot water; you couldn't combine it with cold water. It hasn't been renovated in years. Cobwebs and water leaks on the ceiling. They said they had a TV in the room and Wi-Fi, but the TV had no channels. I had to buy an HDMI cable and put movies on my laptop. I didn't have Wi-Fi because the paper on the door where the password was written was torn in half. I sent them a message and a photo of the incomplete password, but I didn't get any response. I had internet from my phone (Hotspot). The linen was clean but stained. Desire Residence is a terraced house in hotel mode. Some rooms don't have a bathroom; it's in the hallway; others, like ours, have a bathroom. The kitchen is on the ground floor and is shared with everyone. We only used it to keep food in the fridge. Luckily we came to the room late at night and left the next day at lunchtime. We only used it for sleeping, otherwise we enjoyed our holiday in London, which is a superb city.

It’s a good apartment if you’re on a low budget. From the reviews, it really seems to depend on which room you get—and luckily, the room we stayed in was clean and well maintained. If you’re looking for a luxurious or cozy stay, this isn’t the place for you. But if you just need a budget-friendly option with a roof over your head and basic facilities for one or two nights, it does the job well. Regarding safety, we were initially a bit worried because the area is quiet and all the bedrooms are close to each other, so you don’t know who’s staying next door. However, once we checked in, we saw that there are proper locks, keys, and secure doors, which made us feel much more comfortable. So there’s really nothing to worry about on that front. As for electric sockets, we didn’t face any issues—none were loose, and everything was working fine. Overall, a decent stay for the price.

After reading reviews was afraid to book . But then my heart told me to . I was really pleased with my stay there ; room with own toilets & then the area with good transport facilities. I like it . The place ain't 100% perfect but does the job . I've noticed loads people leaving bad reviews & low rate . I guess they can't pleased. They just drama queens 😁 . I don’t even know where to start, because this was our first truly shocking experience booking accommodation abroad. Upon arrival, we immediately noticed that the place is a heavily beautified version of what is shown on Booking.com. In reality, there is no sign of even basic cleanliness. The condition of the room did not match the photos at all. Many things were broken or dirty: sockets, walls, a cracked TV mounting frame, a visibly damaged lamp, and generally poor maintenance everywhere. The walls were dirty and blackened, and the shower drain clearly had not been cleaned or maintained for a long time. It was obvious to the naked eye that the room was not properly cleaned. The most shocking part, however, was the bed. When we started preparing to sleep and closed the windows, we noticed a disgusting smell. After removing the pillowcases and covers, we saw clearly visible yellowish stains on the pillows and mattress, strongly suggesting dried urine. The smell was unbearable. That was the final line for us. That same evening, around midnight, we packed our belongings and went out to look for another hotel. Unfortunately, everything was fully booked, and we were forced to spend the night there. We stayed in room number one. Sleeping was nearly impossible: every step, cough, and even normal conversations from neighbors were clearly audible. At times, it sounded like a party was happening in the next room. We contacted the accommodation the same evening in writing to report these issues, but received no response at all. The shared kitchen situation was equally unacceptable. In the photos, it is shown that each room has its own cupboard, but in reality this was not the case. Cupboards were crammed with rags, linens, and bedding, supposedly in the same space where guests are expected to store food. The surfaces and cupboards were filthy, raising serious concerns about hygiene and cross-contamination between food, dirt, chemicals, and laundry. We would never prepare food there. The next morning, we contacted the accommodation owner again and informed them that we could not stay under these conditions. They arrived a few hours later and acknowledged the problems. However, the only solution offered was new pillows. They did not even want to look at the kitchen, clearly knowing the situation already. We demanded a full refund through Booking.com, but their customer support has been completely unhelpful and ineffective. As a result, we have contacted our credit card provider and filed a chargeback dispute, and we will not stop until this issue is resolved. If you care about hygiene, cleanliness, and basic comfort, do not book this accommodation. Personally, I would not stay here even for free. This was the worst Booking experience of my life, and two days of our holiday were completely wasted.
