Choosing student accommodation often comes down to the things you'll deal with every day. A manageable journey to university, bills that are already covered, and somewhere to study or relax can make settling into a new city much easier. Gosford Gate Coventry sits on Far Gosford Street, close to Coventry's universities, shops, cafés and public transport.
The property has both private studios and en-suite rooms in shared apartments, so students can choose between having more independence or sharing their living space with others. The rent also includes the main household bills, while study rooms, communal areas and an on-site fitness suite cover some of the practical parts of student life.
For students looking to stay close to Coventry city centre without giving up access to everyday facilities, Gosford Gate student accommodation offers a straightforward place to live during the academic year.

Getting around Coventry is fairly simple from here. Accommodation priorities differ from one student to another. Some would rather have a studio and their own kitchen, while others prefer sharing a flat and having people around them. Gosford Gate Coventry caters to both arrangements.
Some of the reasons students consider Gosford Gate include:

Electricity, gas, water, Wi-Fi and contents insurance included in the rent.
Furnished rooms with dedicated study space.

Students who prefer greater independence can choose between the Classic Studio and Accessible Classic Studio.
The studio format gives residents their own living arrangement rather than sharing the main kitchen and communal space with flatmates. The accessible option also gives students with mobility requirements another accommodation choice within the property.
The weekly rent at Gosford Gate covers several household expenses that students would otherwise need to arrange separately.
Your rent includes:
Electricity
Gas
Water
High-speed Wi-Fi
Contents insurance
Rooms also come furnished, which means students can move in without having to purchase basic furniture before the start of term.
Having the main utilities included in one weekly payment makes it easier to keep track of accommodation costs, particularly during the first few months of university when there are plenty of other expenses to manage.
Gosford Gate has facilities covering study, socialising and some of the practical tasks that come with living away from home.
Students have access to dedicated study rooms for coursework, revision and group discussions.
The rooms also have dedicated study areas, so residents can work privately when they would rather stay in their own accommodation.
The shared areas give residents somewhere to spend time outside their rooms.
Facilities include:
Lounge area
Games room
Regular resident events
These spaces also give new residents a natural way to meet other students, particularly during the first few weeks of the academic year.
An on-site fitness suite is available within the property, giving residents the option of working out without making a separate trip across Coventry.

Coventry University's Main Campus is around 1.39 miles from the property. Students can travel between the accommodation and campus by walking, cycling or using local bus services, depending on their timetable and preference.

After living at Host's Gosford Gate for a full academic year, here's my honest take. PROS: I had the premium en suite room, which was spacious with great storage, for around £110-115 a week — still one of the cheaper options in Coventry. The kitchen was equally generous, with four cupboards and a drawer to myself. Every room comes with a desk, office chair, bin, toilet brush, and a comfy mattress; my desk was huge, which made studying easy all year. Rooms have two light sources, including a switch by the bed, and stay warm in winter thanks to electric heaters. The walls are thick too, so you barely hear your neighbours — a big plus compared to other student accommodation. The whole building has a modern feel: bedrooms, corridors, lifts, and the downstairs lounge are all well looked after. There's a dedicated study room plus a lounge with a pool table, big TV, and plenty of seating, alongside a small gym (treadmill, cable machine) and a laundry room with four washers and dryers. Reception is staffed 24/7, maintenance requests are easy to submit online and usually fixed within three days, and bills are all included, which makes budgeting simple. The location is excellent — Sainsbury's Local, mini marts, and food spots are all close by, with a bus stop a minute away leading to Lidl and Iceland. It's near Coventry University, about 15 minutes to Warwick by bus, a 15-minute walk into the city centre, and just 5 minutes from FarGo Village's independent shops and events. The accommodation also puts on seasonal events like Christmas and World Cup decorations. CONS: While walls are thick, doors aren't, so corridor noise carries. There are no kitchen cleaners, so cleanliness depends entirely on flatmates — and with around 10 people in my flat, fortnightly inspections were strict, yet the actual culprits were never held accountable despite reception introducing cleaning rotas. We'd also specifically requested an all-girls flat and were told yes, only to find five boys living there on move-in day — something they should have flagged in advance. Reception staff were inconsistent: friendly some days, standoffish others. Circuit Laundry is pricey, though that's typical for student accommodations. The building stays warm in winter but too hot in summer, especially higher floors, so a fan is essential. False fire alarms were frequent, and afterwards lifts would be out for several minutes, meaning long walks up six flights. The surrounding Far Gosford area has a reputation for crime, though I personally never had issues. There were also fewer organised events compared to other accommodations, and the nearby Sainsbury's, while convenient, is overpriced for a full shop. OVERALL: You get what you pay for — affordable, modern, and well-located, with downsides that likely help keep costs down. Stricter enforcement with messy flatmates and more consistent reception service could improve things without raising prices. I'd rate it 3.5/5, and would live here again — ideally with a full group of friends rather than just a couple plus strangers who don't clean up.

Great accommodation in terms of location and also it is very reasonable in terms of the price. The rooms are as they appear in the web and the kitchens are very big. It is very close to the university and to basically everywhere else, I never had to walk more than 30 minutes to get anywhere. The common room is also great, with plenty of space to relax, meet people, or play billiards and ping pong. However, there is one thing they really need to improve: cleanliness. The cleaning staff only cleans the common areas, not the kitchen, and apparently they do not properly clean the rooms when students leave, they expect the students to do it themselves. When I arrived in September, my room was not very clean. The window was broken, there were flies on the floor, and the kitchen was in an even worse condition. It was obvious that nobody had cleaned it for days before my arrival, even though I had informed them in advance about when I would arrive so everything could be prepared. The worst part was when I had to leave this week. I was told that I had to leave the room clean and organized, which I understood to some extent because of course I was not going to leave it messy. However, when someone came to inspect the room, they found three small things in the bathroom that I had forgotten to clean and told me I had to clean them immediately because they were going to inspect the room again. I honestly could not believe it, that should be part of the cleaning staff’s job, not the student’s. Apart from these issues, I felt comfortable in the accommodation overall. And if situations like these happen, I would recommend complaining, because they usually try to fix the problem.

Katherine is a very helpful and supportive staff member. Whenever I face any difficulties, she is always ready to assist me. The living atmosphere here is very pleasant and comfortable. Everything is clean and well-maintained, which makes it a great place to stay..

Loved staying here so far during my first year. The rooms are a comfortable size and come with an en suite, and the kitchen appliances work perfectly. The building as a whole is clean and modern. However, there is not always someone on reception when you need due to staffing shortages across the company's citywide accommodation blocks, and we have had issues with the water on one occasion. Other than this, a brilliant modern building which is well equipped. Shame I can't stay for another year after 1st Year.
