Finding somewhere to live during university involves more than choosing a room. The distance to campus, the cost of keeping the room running and the places available for studying or relaxing can all shape your routine once term starts.
Stanhope House Portsmouth offers a choice between en-suite rooms in shared apartments and private studios, giving students different ways to approach their accommodation. Located on Commercial Road, the property keeps the University of Portsmouth, shops, cafés and other everyday destinations within easy reach.
For students comparing Stanhope House Portsmouth accommodation, the property combines furnished rooms with inclusive bills and a range of facilities inside the residence itself. That means there are places to study, spend time with friends and deal with everyday tasks without having to leave the building every time.
Stanhope House Portsmouth accommodation is made up of two main types of living arrangements. Students who enjoy sharing with others can choose an en-suite room within a shared apartment, while those who prefer more privacy can opt for a self-contained studio.

The facilities extend beyond the rooms. Students have access to study rooms, a library and a business centre with conference rooms when they need somewhere to concentrate. For time away from coursework, there is a cinema room, games room, lounge, private dining area and table tennis.
Practical facilities are also part of the setup. Secure bike storage, a parcel room, on-site maintenance and resident management help with the everyday side of living away from home. Security measures include CCTV, secure door entry and 24-hour security.

I had the pleasure of living at Stanhope House for three years, and it was truly one of the best experiences I could have hoped for. Aside from the brief period when construction was taking place which, while slightly inconvenient at the time, was handled professionally my time there both before and during those works was nothing short of amazing. My room was perfect, well-equipped, and had everything I needed to feel comfortable and at home. The location on Commercial Road was an incredible advantage, with everything I could possibly need close by shops, transport links, and local amenities all within easy reach. Being so close to my university made daily life even more convenient and stress-free. However, what truly set my experience apart was not just the facilities or the location, but the incredible team who work there. The staff were always attentive, friendly, and proactive in ensuring everything was running smoothly. Their professionalism, warmth, and willingness to help made me feel valued and well cared for throughout my stay. If I had the opportunity, I would gladly spend another three years here. I am deeply grateful to the entire Stanhope House team for making my time there so memorable, comfortable, and enjoyable. Thank you for everything you turned what could have been just a place to live into a genuine home. Rm.29

Hi there Kayleigh, can I get an update on my refund issue? I’ve been emailing for quite a number of days Thank you.

Whilst a promising tour round last year before moving in, it since went down hill. Whilst there, the room had to be cleaned on arrival, issues took a while to fix, and we did not encounter the friendly service mentioned in other reviews. On leaving, after meticulously cleaning the room as much as of the kitchen as we could - They kept our deposit and charged more money; when we left our room in a better state than we found it. They have not replied to our complaint with accompanying evidence to back it up, and just sent a demanding email for the outstanding debt, and ignored my reply to that.
