This accommodation is nice. Not for the price you pay and now for the quality of living. Hope you get good flat mates because the accommodation doesn’t do anything if they steal your food and smoke weed in their room. Also very unorganised and typically with no explanation on why issues are happening or occurring. Was supposed to be in greatham but night before moving down told I will be moving to Chaucer. This is after making friends with the flatmates to be. Causing unwanted stress due to unorganisation. Also after living in one room for a week being woken up at 7 am on a Saturday because they had moved me into I would not use unite student again and actively told people how bad it is and will not recommend living here. Stay in accommodation the uni recommended then try get a house. 1/10 cannot wait to move out

Very lazy front desk staff most of the time, especially Suzie. I often have to wait 4+ hours for my packages whilst staff are faffing about on computers or hiding in the back room whilst theres queues of students outside. On two occasions, Suzie refused to give me my own packages, including a medication delivery, and told me to “wait for the email” despite the parcel having already been delivered for hours. Her attitude also stinks. They will 9/10 ignore your noise complaints too. In contrast, Molly has always been helpful, professional and polite, so I do want to acknowledge that positive experience. The cleanliness situation in my flat has repeatedly become unacceptable. There has been overflowing rubbish, rotting food, mould growth, dirty dishes left for long periods, dead flies in the kitchen, and a strong smell throughout the flat. I have personally experienced respiratory issues affecting my lungs, which I strongly believe were worsened by the mould and unhygienic environment. For the amount students are paying in rent, the kitchens should realistically be cleaned by staff bi weekly. Instead, management seem very dismissive of ongoing hygiene issues and expect residents to act as cleaners for other people’s mess, even when it begins affecting your own health and wellbeing. Responsible tenants are effectively left acting as unpaid cleaners for multiple flatmates and even the large groups of friends they regularly bring into the kitchen. I also appreciated the staff members who arranged for the kitchen to be professionally cleaned and ensured I personally was not charged. However, the overall management of these issues still feels inconsistent, with too much focus placed on blanket charges across the flat rather than properly addressing the residents actually responsible for repeatedly creating these health and hygiene problems. Overall, Chaucer House seriously needs improvement in its reception efficiency, cleanliness management, communication with residents, and handling of ongoing welfare concerns. I do have a tenancy booked for next year but i am heavily reconsidering and planning to live somewhere else just in case i get stuck with dirty flatmates again.

The location to the uni is similar to the majourity of the accomidations and it never feels too far from anything important, the maintenence crew seem quick and efficient if there is an issue or request they will arrive in decent time to fulfil it, the comunal area is sizeable and accessible and im exicted to find use for it considering how it never feels like it could get too overfilled with people, after seeing multiple accomidations through friends ive found the bathroom here is probabky one of the fanciest, with a showe door and a sleek white with black accents design and colouring. Quite happy with my choice and excited to spend the year living here

Staff are unhelpful, moody and not willing to do the bare minimum (i.e. sort out a noise issue) most of the time and don't want to resolve issues as "They usually sort themselves out on their own" - (James, Building Manager), staff also have a tendency to walk like elephants at night when they walk into your flat. Fire doors downstairs have been broken since before open day of last year, doors that require keycards frequently don't work so you have to ask a flatmate to get into your flat. I could go on. Can't wait to leave. word of advice for people looking to book here, don't. Find accommodation elsewhere.

I lived in Unite Chaucer House for 3 years and I definitely recommend it! It is a very comfortable accommodation with a variety of rooms/flats to choose from, there is a gym, water fountains, laundry room, study room and some lovely leisure and game student spaces! It has a fatntastic location with the train station right opposite the building. Lietrally everything is nearby: grocerry shops, restaurants, a lovely park, venues, clubs, university buildings, bus stations.... However, the highlight of this accommodation is definitely the staff as they are all so lovely and always super helpful! I especially wanna mention Molly, James, Suzie, Kyle and Maria from the reception team as well as Josef, Steve and Kevin from the staff that work around the building. I feel like they became my little family and made my stay all the more enjoyble. Thank you for the 3 great years!
