Choosing student accommodation is rarely just about the room itself. Your commute, weekly rent, included bills and the facilities available on site all become part of your routine once the academic year starts.
Frobisher House Plymouth is located on Ebrington Street, close to the University of Plymouth and Plymouth city centre. The property offers a choice of en-suite rooms and private studios, giving students different ways to approach their living arrangements depending on their budget and preferred level of privacy.
The location is also useful for everyday life. Shops, cafés, restaurants, gyms and public transport are all close by, while Plymouth Railway Station and Plymouth Coach Station make longer journeys easier to manage. With electricity, gas, heating, water and Wi-Fi included in the rent, Frobisher House student accommodation keeps several of the usual student living costs in one weekly payment.
University accommodation becomes part of your daily routine very quickly. You need somewhere to work when deadlines are approaching, somewhere to relax after lectures and enough shared space to meet people outside your course.
Frobisher House caters to both sides of student life. Students can choose an en-suite room within shared accommodation or opt for a self-contained studio when greater privacy matters more. Rooms include a study area and storage, while shared flats have communal kitchens where residents can prepare meals and spend time with their flatmates.
There are also several spaces outside the bedrooms. Dedicated study rooms give students somewhere to work when they want a change from their room, while the resident lounge and games room provide places to relax between lectures or at the end of the day. A pool table adds another option for spending time with other residents.
The property also includes practical facilities such as secure bike storage, recycling facilities and CCTV across communal areas. With utility bills included and on-site facilities covering several everyday needs, Frobisher House Plymouth offers a straightforward setup for students settling into life in the city.
The property sits in a central part of Plymouth, keeping the University of Plymouth, shops, restaurants and transport links within manageable travelling distance.
The central location is one of the practical advantages of living at Frobisher House Plymouth. Gasking Street Bus Stop is around two minutes away on foot, while Arts University Plymouth Bus Stop and Lanyon House Bus Stop are also within a short walk.
Plymouth Railway Station is approximately 18 minutes away on foot and provides rail connections for students travelling elsewhere in Devon or returning home during university breaks. Plymouth Coach Station is around 10 minutes away, giving residents another option for longer journeys.
Shopping is similarly straightforward. Sainsbury's Local is available on site, which is useful when you need a few groceries without making a separate trip. Tesco Express, Co-op Food, ALDI and Marks & Spencer are also nearby for larger shopping trips.
Students have plenty of places to eat and meet friends around Ebrington Street and the surrounding city centre. KYOWA, Imperial Garden and North Street No 7 Cafe and Bar are among the nearby choices, while Minerva Cafe, Costa Coffee, Starbucks and Caffè Nero provide options for coffee, breakfast or a study break.
There are also several places to spend time outside the property. Plymouth Hoe offers open space and views across the waterfront, while the Barbican and Sutton Harbour combine historic streets with restaurants, shops and waterfront spots. Central Park provides another option for walking, running or taking some time away from university work.
For students who prefer to keep active, the on-site gym means there's no need to travel across the city for a basic workout. PureGym Plymouth, The Gym Group Plymouth and University of Plymouth Sport provide further choices nearby.
Accommodation works best when the things you need regularly are easy to access. Frobisher House student accommodation in Plymouth brings together different room types, inclusive bills, study facilities and shared spaces, while its central Plymouth location keeps much of the city within reach.
Some of the main reasons students consider Frobisher House include:
Choice of en-suite rooms and self-contained studios.
Electricity, gas, heating, water and Wi-Fi included in the rent.
Dedicated study rooms for coursework and revision.
Resident lounge and games room with a pool table.
On-site gym for regular workouts.
Communal kitchens in shared accommodation.
Secure bike storage and recycling facilities.

Sainsbury's Local available on site.
Gasking Street, Arts University Plymouth and Lanyon House bus stops within a short walk.
Plymouth Railway Station and Plymouth Coach Station within walking distance.
Easy access to the University of Plymouth and transport connections towards Plymouth Marjon University.
The combination is particularly useful for students who want to keep their weekly routine relatively simple. You can study within the building, pick up groceries without travelling far, use the gym between classes and reach the city centre without relying on long journeys.

Shared kitchens give residents somewhere to cook and spend time with flatmates, while the private en-suite keeps the bedroom area more independent.
Prices start at £115 per week for the Standard En-Suite and rise to £155 per week for the Premium Plus En-Suite.
Students who prefer greater independence can choose between the Premium Studio and Deluxe Studio.
Studios provide a more self-contained setup, including a private kitchenette and bathroom alongside the bedroom and study space. They can suit students who prefer to manage their own routine without sharing the main living facilities of a flat.
The Premium Studio starts from £189 per week, while the Deluxe Studio starts from £195 per week.
Several of the main household costs are included in the weekly rent at Frobisher House Plymouth.
Your rent covers:
Electricity
Gas
Heating
Water
High-speed Wi-Fi
Having these costs included means students don't need to set up separate payments for the utilities covered by their tenancy. It also makes it easier to work out how much of the weekly budget is going towards accommodation from the start of the academic year.
The facilities at Frobisher House Plymouth cover the parts of student life that happen outside your bedroom, from getting coursework done to having somewhere to relax with friends. The setup is fairly straightforward, with dedicated study areas, shared social spaces and practical facilities available within the building.
Your choice of room also impacts how much of your living space you’ll be sharing with other people.
En-suite rooms come with a private bathroom and access to a communal kitchen, providing students the best of both worlds: personal privacy and the opportunity to live with flatmates. In the studios, you have additional independence with your own kitchenette and bathroom plus the bedroom and study area.
A bed, study space and storage are standard room features, providing students with the essential requirements for academics and life.
There are times when working from your bedroom simply isn't the best option, particularly when several deadlines start approaching at once.
Frobisher House has dedicated study rooms where residents can work away from the distractions of their accommodation. These spaces can be useful for individual revision, coursework or group assignments when you need somewhere separate from your usual living area.
Shared spaces give residents an opportunity to spend time with other students without having to leave the property.
The resident lounge offers somewhere to sit and catch up with friends, while the games room and pool table provide an easy way to take a break after lectures or coursework. These areas also make it easier to meet other residents, particularly during the first few weeks of university.
Some of the most useful facilities are the ones you'll end up using as part of your normal routine.
Residents have access to:
Secure bike storage
Recycling facilities
Communal kitchens in shared flats
On-site gym
The on-site gym is particularly useful for students who want to fit exercise around lectures without having to make a separate journey across Plymouth. Bike storage is also available for residents who cycle to university or around the city.
Security facilities are in place across the property, with CCTV covering communal areas.
This gives residents an additional layer of security within the building, while the shared areas and managed facilities help keep the accommodation organised throughout the academic year.
The location of Frobisher House Plymouth makes it particularly useful for students attending the University of Plymouth. The city-centre campus is less than a mile away, while the university's North Plymouth Campus and Plymouth Marjon University can be reached using local transport.

Living centrally means students have several ways to get around without needing a car. The nearest bus stops are only a few minutes from the property, while the railway and coach stations provide options for longer journeys.

The right accommodation depends on how you expect to spend your time outside lectures. Some students want a private studio and a quieter setup, while others would rather share a flat, meet people and have access to communal spaces. Frobisher House Plymouth caters to both preferences, with en-suite rooms and studios available at different price points.
The en-suite rooms suit students who like having other people around without giving up their own bedroom and bathroom.
Shared kitchens give flatmates somewhere to cook and spend time together, while the private bedroom remains a separate space for studying or winding down. The resident lounge and games room add further opportunities to meet people within the building.
The Premium and Deluxe Studios offer a more self-contained arrangement.
With your own kitchenette, bathroom, sleeping area and study space, a studio gives you greater control over your routine. This can work particularly well for postgraduate students, students who prefer quieter accommodation or anyone who doesn't want to share the main kitchen.
Room prices at Frobisher House start from £115 per week for a Standard En-Suite, with several categories available before reaching the studio options.
Having different room types means students can compare the amount of space and privacy they need against their weekly budget rather than paying for features they may not use.
Electricity, gas, heating, water and Wi-Fi are already covered within the rent.
This removes several separate household payments from your monthly budget and makes it easier to work out your accommodation costs before the academic year begins.
The property has study rooms, a resident lounge, games facilities, an on-site gym, bike storage and recycling facilities.
Its location adds another layer of practicality. Sainsbury's Local is on site, bus stops are a short walk away, and Plymouth Railway Station, the city centre and the University of Plymouth can all be reached without a lengthy commute.
For students who want their accommodation to fit around university rather than create extra work, Frobisher House student accommodation offers a fairly straightforward setup.
Frobisher House Plymouth offers students a choice between shared en-suite accommodation and private studios, with prices starting from £115 per week. Inclusive electricity, gas, heating, water and Wi-Fi also make the weekly rent easier to budget for throughout the academic year.

We moved our son in this weekend, and what an experience this was. Pulling up to Frobisher's house, we were greeted by a load of people. Even though Frobisher was busy, each staff member made us feel that they had time for us and nothing was too much trouble. The help moving our son's belongings into the room, which I thought I would have to do by myself. When we arrived at the room, my son wasn't happy with the size of his room, so we spoke to Steven & Ali, who were both fantastic in resolving our issue. They found us an alternative room that we were happy with, and now my son is thrilled. Thank you for a pleasant arrival and for making a parent feel confident that their child will be well looked after. Again, the whole team are fantastic.

I'm in my second year and moving in was less stressful due to the lovely staff, it went smoothly and the room/bathroom was in good condition.

Staff are very welcoming. The location is great. The condition of the rooms are excellent. Overall no complaints.
Sam Jewitt
Very friendly staff, very well run building and good relationship with the Old Dairy

We stayed here through Zeni Ensuites on AirBnB. We had 1 loo roll, 1 medium sized towel and 2 pillows for 2 adults for 7 days. The windows only open a crack and have locks preventing more. Building covered in scaffold. Bin room was repulsive to walk by and use and hadn't been emptied in some time. Flies from the bins were flying into the main building and you were greeted with them and a smell from the bottom of the elevator. There was no bathroom bin for sanitary use or sanitary bags for disposal just a wire waste paper basket with no bag under the desk (this would be awful should someone be on their period.) The room had very dirty walls and carpet, a damp ceiling, the bathroom sink plug did not work. This accommodation provides you with nothing essentially so bare that in mind if you make the trip here. We were 4 floors up through multiple locked doors (with key fob). The lift in the building was very temperamental and would take several attempts before actually closing the doors and taking us to our floor which after a few days became genuinely frustrating. We had no use of a kitchen however on more than one occasion someone was cooking in the kitchen room next door to us even when we were seemingly the only people staying in our corridor. There is no TV or Kettle. Staff friendly especially the lady with pink hair!
