Vita Student Lawrence Street, york

I have been living at Vita Student York for a while now, and my experience has been very positive. Even though the building has been running for some time, the facilities are well-maintained overall. The location is also perfect—very convenient for commuting to the university and getting to York city center. However, the best part of living here is the team. A huge thank you to the manager, Kirsty. She is incredibly responsible, empathetic, and approachable. I’ve had issues with noise from neighbors upstairs and downstairs, and every time I reached out, Kirsty communicated with them efficiently and resolved the problem. She truly makes me feel heard and valued. I also want to mention Kate, who is always enthusiastic and warm. She greets me every time I see her. Whenever I’m confused about any facility or service, she is always there to help. I really love that she often tells me, "It's ok, Don't worry, I'll handle it." It makes me feel so reassured and safe. Value for money: Although the price isn't low, I am willing to pay for the services provided—specifically the weekday breakfast, the bi-weekly housekeeping, and the spacious, comfortable study and social areas. Highly recommended!

I do have some great time in here. It’s a beautiful place with lots of events like parties, yoga, and cooking sessions — I really enjoyed that part. However, throughout the year I’ve been struggling with silverfish in my room. I reported it to the reception so many times that I lost count, but the issue was never truly solved. I still see them on my desk every morning, and sometimes even on my bed. To be fair, some of the staff are really friendly and always willing to help, but unfortunately, they couldn’t fix this problem. Overall, I’d say Vita is a lovely place with great facilities and events, but if you’re sensitive to seeing silverfish, this might not be the right place for you, unless you’re lucky enough to get a room without them.

The price was unbelievable for the short stay. And they charge me when I arrived with a different price. Communication was really bad through agents on WhatsApp, who never responded to me fast or with updates! Overall, it’s not worth it, the quality of privet studio it's bad, and it was not clean when I arrived. And if I choose to stay in any luxury apartment in York city center it would better price than the amount I paid. Also, they forced me to rent 10 more days, and I didn’t know any better since I was a student traveling for the first time without understanding these contract rules. I really wish I looked for more places around. Stay safe, everyone 🙏🏼

I have lived at vita for a year and a half so I have experienced it all. During the week you can enjoy a breakfast however it doesn’t really ever change so it does get boring. There’s free coffee 24/7 (not many dairy free options though). Theres also an onsite gym that has all the equipment for a good workout. The staff are all lovely and I’d recommend getting to know them as it makes your stay so much nicer. Special mention to: Georgia, Tina, Steve, Hayley, Eleanor and Kirsty! There are a range of different events so there’s definitely something for everyone. There are cooking, beauty (with bags of freebies and a chance to win the giveaways), arts & crafts and gym events. It’s a great way to meet new people! The site also has: book swap, parcel room, 24/7 reception, board games & video games to borrow, pool table, air hockey, ping pong and lots of outdoor areas to sit. The views as well from my room is incredible with the York Minster in the far distance.

Having a great time living at Vita! There's so many extras that come with the rent, and the grounds are beautiful. Georgia, Haley, Mohamed and the rest of the team are so friendly, and always helpful when an issue is raised, to see that it's resolved ASAP. Highly recommend it to any student!
